Publisher's summary

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable.

Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's 60 years old.

Suddenly, Father Tim gets more than he bargained for. And readers get a rich, provincial comedy in which mysteries and miracles abound.

Don't miss out on the rest of Father Tim's adventures in Mitford.

Wonderful!

This is my favorite book! So enjoyable! The characters are well developed. No matter how many times over the years I listen, it is like visiting with old friends. Thank you for this production...author, narrator and sound recording!

A wonderful book!!! Read well!

I adore this book. It's one of my favorites. Uplifting. Funny. Nice pace. Even some suspense. Strong values.
My only complaint is when the reader misreads a primary character's last name as "Copperfield" instead of "Coppersmith" two times. But other than that, a marvelous reading!!

a book to make one smile

I enjoyed listening to a book I have previously read more than once. Father Tim makes me smile. a refreshing book with true to life characters. The reader has a wonderful voice and his characterizations were fun to hear.

Perfect Summer Read

I don't usually go for Christian fiction but this is different. I loved it.

Best book in a long time!

I loved this book and the narrator was wonderful, he sounded similar Sir David Attenborough. Highly recommended!!!

Charming!

The only possible negative is that the recording skips in places, which means short portions of the story get missed. But I can't wait to listen to more of Father Tim's adventures and find out if he and Cynthia end up together.

The very best in all ways.

Jan Karon undeniably is fully equipped with God’s love to give every person the blessing of reading her work. The most comforting and spirit filled storyteller of all time. We should all drink up her work as it is healing balm in a storm of dangerously destroying literature that infects the mind with unease. God bless Jan Karon.

One of the best series out there!

This has got to be one of my all-time favorite series. Ever. I'm on my third or fourth reading of the books and love it even more each time. It's like spending time with old friends. You get to know the characters and the town so well, it's like being part of a big, extended family. And even when things get hard or sad, it's a comforting and cozy place to be. It feels like home. I've introduced multiple other people to the series and, inevitably, they end up loving it as much as I do. It should also be said that the narrator is one of the best there is. I love him and he's perfect for Father Tim. A really inspiring, uplifting, comforting series. I can't recommend it enough. Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry
