Publisher's summary

It is now thirty-eight months into the Tribulation. Giant horsemen ride the earth, scorching thousands with their fiery wrath. The believers in Christ, finding sanctuary in safe houses, continue to receive spiritual strength from their leader. But one of the faithful, desperate to hasten events, is secretly planning to assassinate the Antichrist, Nicolae Carpathia.

Educator and lecturer Tim LaHaye has made a lifelong study of prophecy. Jerry B. Jenkins has written four best-selling books. Their collaboration fills the Left Behind series with unforgettable apocalyptic visions and dramatic conflicts. Enhanced by Richard Ferrone's muscular narration, Assassins pulls the listener into the midst of great clashes between good and evil.

The Left Behind series is the fastest-selling Christian series ever. Each volume immediately hits best seller lists and has thrilled millions of readers worldwide. As the sixth volume, Assassins follows the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, terrifying portents of judgement appear.

Assassins: Left Behind, Volume 6 (Unabridged)

Great book, couldn't put it down. I listened to the whole thing in two days. This series is addictive. Now I've got to get the next one. I wasn't sure how it would sound in mode 2 but it was fine and was able to get both volums on the SD memory chip.

The Halfway Point in the Series, With an Excellent Cliffhanger

As I have said in my reviews of each previous book in the series till this point: If you are a Christian, I would recommend this book to you not only as an excellent work of fiction but as a kind of companion to a Bible study of the book of Revelation. While I am not a minister or a Bible scholar, as a Christian these books are very accurate, and I know my understanding of the book of Revelation has been expanded through this series.
If you are not a Christian, I would recommend this book to you as an excellent work of fiction (which it is), and if it (re)awakens questions you haven’t asked in a very long time, if at all, then I would encourage you to seek answers like the characters in this series. Find a Bible and a church that preaches Christ, that if you are willing to hear it you may know the truth.
Now as for this story, Assassins features wonderful pacing. Strong characters, realistic dialogue, and, as I mentioned in the title of this review, an incredible cliffhanger at the end that has left me on pins and needles for the next book. The only reason I entered 4 stars for the story is for a typo that can be heard a little over halfway through the book.
When Zion is explaining to Mack why the ten kings are going to want to kill Peter Matthews, he references this verse: “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.” Revelation 17:16. However, in the book Zion says this verse is from Revelation chapter 7. I’m sure this was just a typo that slipped through the cracks, but I wanted to make sure it was noted for anyone who might not have noticed.
As for the narration, Ferrone seems to be improving with every book he narrates. His signature dryness only seems to add to the atmosphere of this dark, gritty world the tribulation force inhabits. Aside from that, his voice acting sounds much more emotional and realistic than it has in the past, with the last bit of dialogue between Carpathia and Fortunato having honestly given me chills.
I incredibly enjoyed this book and am enthusiastic for the next entry to the Left Behind series.

Kept me on the end of my seat

I am new to this audio book - iPod thing - but I love the Left Behind series, and I wasn't disappointed in this book. Hearing the different voices, and the music, made it more real. This whole series makes you think. Listening this way, really makes you pick up your Bible.

These books help one understand what the rapture and tribulation may appear like based on Tora and Bible study.
