Publisher's Summary

The Tribulation Force is gathering in Jerusalem, where thousands of the faithful are receiving crucial teachings from their leader. They must be prepared for the fourth Trumpet Judgement prophesied in Revelations. Soon, even the sun will be affected, and a plague of anguish will be released on earth.

As the Tribulation Force continues its dramatic struggle against evil, Apollyon offers stunning apocalyptic visions. Richard Ferrone's riveting narration captures the suspense of the physical conflicts and the drama of the spiritual challenges. When Left Behind, the first book in LaHaye and Jenkins' inspirational saga, was published, it attracted millions of fans worldwide. Since then, each succeeding book has joined it on best seller lists. Apollyon, the fifth volume, is a thrilling continuation of the battle between the followers of Christ and the forces of Nicolae, the Antichrist.

    "Horrible narration!"
Would you try another book from Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins and/or Richard Ferrone?

From the authors, yes. From the narrator, never!

How could the performance have been better?

This narrator used the same voice and intonation for every character. It was horrible. You couldn't tell who was saying what. I bought the wrong version.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story was great! Just poorly narrated.

"Good Story but Narrator seems so monotone"

I like that Ferrone is good at pronouncing Tsion as Zion but I have a difficult time making out what voice goes to which character. Sondericker's recordings have much page turning and writing in the background that are distracting and Sondericker makes a Tsion sound like an elderly man and phonetically pronounces the T but at least I can tell who is who with him. I'd like to hear his Nicholae Carpathia voice in this one when he addresses the 144,000 witnesses at their assembly. Some in continuity in this book too, Nicholae is offended that he needs an interpreter while addressing the crowd in English but earlier in the series, he's fluent in all of the UN languages and interprets himself as he speaks but that won't let me dismiss the book or the series. I'll stick with Ferrone to see if I can get used to his style, especially since he's chosen for whispersynch in later books. If I just can't get used to him, I'll switch back to Sondericker.
