Publisher's summary

Ayn Rand’s dystopic science-fiction novella takes place at some unspecified future date. Mankind has entered another dark age as a result of what Rand saw as the weaknesses of socialistic thinking and economics. Technological advancement is now carefully planned -- when it is allowed to occur at all -- and the concept of individuality has been eliminated. As is common in her work, Rand draws a clear distinction between the “socialist/communal” values of equality and brotherhood and the “productive/capitalist” values of achievement and individuality.

Another great book by Ayn Rand!

This book was the classic individual vs the collective story that the author has perfected.

Rand's classic

The narrator was nothing special but the story was one of Rand's best in my opinion.

Amazing and relevant

This book is amazingly relevant. It becomes more and more relevant every year. It's like Ayn Rand was an Oracle.

Everyone should read this.

The beginning has a very eerie similarity to current day North Korea.

Amazing.

Hope

Anthem was a look in to humanity. Scary, disappointing yet hopeful. God al ways provides a way.

Scares me how real this book sounds

Where does Anthem rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very enjoyable will listen to again

Any additional comments?

The book when written most likely sounded absurd, it is scary how we are moving twords the absurd.

Great story, ok performance

A great intro to Ayn Rand. I thought there wasn't enough emotion in the performance, so maybe find another reading of it.

Amazingly GOOD READ!!!!!

Iam in 8th grade and have to do a report on "Anthem" I was a little afraid at first thinking it was to advanced, but I understood every bit of it. Life in this society is unthinkable. "I" love that Prometheus found his way.
Also the Narration was a perfect tone for me.
Again, ANTHEM IS A MUST READ FOR ALL AGES.
