Story
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade.

Story
Freeman is a genius with an uncommon mixture of memory, intelligence and creativity. He lives in a worldwide utopia, but it was not always so. There was a time known as the Grind—when Freeman’s people lived as slaves to another race referred to simply as “Master.” They were property. But a civil rights movement emerged. Change seemed near, but the Masters refused to bend. Instead, they declared war. And lost. Now, the freed world is threatened by a virus, spread through bites, sweeping through the population.

Story
Refuge, New Hampshire, is a small town. The kind found on postcards. Their biggest concern is the rowdy summertime revelers making their way up from Massachusetts and New York. And with most of the town's residents in neighboring Ashland, for the Fourth of July fireworks show, Refuge is quieter than usual. That is, until the Baptist church's bell starts ringing - on its own. The bell chimes faster and faster, reaching a frenetic pace, as though rung by the Devil himself. But the bell is just the beginning.

Publisher's summary
THE WORLD RACES TO CLAIM A NEW CONTINENT...
A phenomenon known as crustal displacement shifts the Earth's crust, repositioning continents and causing countless deaths. In the wake of the global catastrophe, the world struggles to take care of its displaced billions. But Antarctica, freshly thawed and blooming, has emerged as a new hope. Rather than wage a world war no nation can endure, the leading nations devise a competition, a race to the center of Antarctica, with the three victors dividing the continent.
It is within this race that Mirabelle Whitney, one of the few surviving experts on the continent, grouped with an American special forces unit, finds herself. But the dangers awaiting the team are far worse than feared; beyond the sour history of a torn family, beyond the nefarious intentions of their human enemies, beyond the ancient creatures reborn through anhydrobiosis--there are the Nephilim.
...ONLY TO FIND IT ALREADY TAKEN.
THE STORY CONTINUES!
If you enjoy Antarktos Rising, be sure to check out The Antarktos Saga, also by Jeremy Robinson. The first two books in this brand new series are prequels to AR. The third book parallels AR. And the last two books finish both story lines as the merge.
The Antarktos Saga, in order:
PRAISE FOR ANTARKTOS RISING:
"Jeremy Robinson is an original and exciting voice. Antarktos Rising has just the right blend of menace and normality---a tale full of intrigue, treachery, and a wealth of secrets. A good old-fashioned suspense story set in one of the most desolate places of earth. It fires on all cylinders in a smart, taut thrill." (Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author of The Venetian Betrayal and The Charlemagne Pursuit)
"Apocalypse comes to Antarctica. Jeremy Robinson balances Biblical speculation upon a dagger-edge of suspense and adventure. With Antarktos Rising, Robinson opens a new dark continent of terror. Trespass at your own risk." (James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of Black Order and The Judas Strain)
"An awesome journey into the beating heart of a legend. Jules Verne would be proud." (Stel Pavlou, bestselling author of Decipher and Gene)
"A fast-paced chiller that delves into new possibilities about our future...and past." (Steve Alten, best-selling author of Meg and The Shell Game)
"How do you find an original story idea in the crowded action-thriller genre? Two words: Jeremy Robinson. Antarktos Rising combines history, science and myth about Antarctica to create a jaw-dropping concept so real it will have you Googling like mad to learn more after the story is finished." (Scott Sigler, bestselling author of Ancestor and Earthcore)

Story
The human race has turned to dust. August Morrison faces it after rising from the depths of a dark matter research facility in Arizona. His co-workers. His daughter. All of them: dust. Friends and colleagues around the world don’t answer their phones. The city of Phoenix burns. He is alone. As a world without mankind starts to crumble, August fights not just for survival, but for his very sanity. On the other side of the country, Poe McDowell watches her parents crumble into dust just moments after being shoved inside a coffin-like device that spares her from the same fate.

Another great story by Jeremy Robinson and excellent performance by RC Bray. This is one of those books which you will not be able to put down.

Very Fun Book
Would you consider the audio edition of Antarktos Rising to be better than the print version?
I only listened to the audio book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Farrel the sniper chick, who doesn't like sniper chicks?
Which scene was your favorite?
Lots of fun scenes. This is a fun book, a great "What If". Of course it would never happen, of course it stretches science and imagination...but that is what fiction is for. Lots of witty but not trite remarks and observations. Even the resurrected bad guys don't come off as fake...in fact, the author makes them more real in my mind that what the Bible says about them. My favorite scene is Meryl and his daughter first go off to talk alone...there is a sense of mystery there and danger when they are rushed.
If you could take any character from Antarktos Rising out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Farrel the sniper chick, but, of course, it might be my last dinner date.
Any additional comments?
Having listened to the audio books of Shackleton, Scott, and Amundson I can say that this is just a fun book for audio book fans. It does not make you say "Argh" as you listen to it...too much...even then it bounces gamely back and does not break continuity with the objective of the author...to tell a story.

This is where it started.
I read the Last Hunter series and it was good. I missed this book and realize this is where the story started and how brilliant changes to the Last Hunter books to accommodate this beginning story. I reccomend reading them in order if you can. If not like me, it's still a great story and you can follow how things were morphed into the Last Hunter books. Really good and Mr Bray was excellent as always.

Antarktos rocks!!
If you've never read this book, you're missing out! R.C. Bray is a fantastic narrator and Jeremy Robinson a phenomenal author. By all means pick this up! If you do, however, I strongly recommend picking up the Last Hunter books as well for the entire story! Books 1&2 precede Antarktos Rising, while 3, 4, & 5 follow. Epic-ness!

One of the best books I have ever been through.
Seriously an amazing book. In the first few chapters I could not tell where the author was taking me. But man oh man…. When it hit and the story took off it was like 65 chapters of what the heck is gonna happen next. Quite possibly one of the best endings as well. I read this is it takes place between book two and three of The Last Hunter series but seriously this os the best book yet. Well done!!!
