Cary hite really brings the story to life. loving this while I drive at work and home

I LOVED IT!!!

Wow! I've had to fight with searching for a book this week; this one brought this, incredibly awful week to a bit better of an ending! If a book can help you better your mood and state of mind, it doesn't matter what you read as long as you're enjoying it! Other people's opinions don't matter, just try it; what are you gonna lose, maybe an hour? you can tell if you like a book within the first hour Id hope!
Anyway, this book is eerily similar to a movie; I thought it might have been the movie, " Back in the Day", but I can't put my finger on it. If anybody else can think of what it is, my business email is [e-mail]. Animal Bu: Kwan is a great read/listen and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a thrilling, yet grim, story, but, you've gotsta keep it gangsta kind of story; you'll be ready for the next one like me!

Great twist at the end. I had a feeling that Animal wouldn’t die. I guess I’ll have to read the next book to see what happens next.

I found kwans book in county jail it was missing pages I never got to finish it but I was hooked I've spent endless nights looking for the original first animal book but can't find it and I highly recommend his books for those that are hood and its amazing that there's a audiobook of animal I appreciate it so much shout out to kwan

what stood out the most to was how detailed my visualization was as the book was being read to me.

overall liked the entire book I can't wait to start book 2

A Brutal Glimpse into Life in The Hood

What does Cary Hite bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Cary Hite's voice was an entertainment all on its own! I couldn't get enough of him speaking like a mad black woman. Especially when in the role of scolding a child, or telling a guy to get lost. He got the attitude just right!

In the more serious male roles, he nailed it right on the head. He switched seamlessly from threatening, to pleading, to joking, to murderous...creating an atmosphere you could feel in your gut.

He made it easy to think you're really listening to an entire cast of performers carry you through this story.

This is my second K'wan novel. The first was Section 8, and it was like nothing I've ever heard before. I was so excited to see more of his work available here on audible. K'wan's writing is outstanding. It's almost TOO real, and at times makes your heart skip a beat when you think that, just maybe, the gang members behind all the shootings you hear about in the news (especially here in Chicago) are people eerily similar to the ones in this book.

In a way, it's as though one of those news paper articles reached out and grabbed you by the nose and pulled you inside - behind the scenes - where the killers are lurking in every corner, and god-forbid you do as much as accidentally bump their arm as you're passing by.

This is a credit very well-spent. But fasten your seat-belt, because it's one hell of a ride.

Great read!

I’m glad I read the hood rat series before reading animal, it helped to bring all the characters together better!! It was entertaining from beginning to end. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

Real ghetto story...

I love the way K’wan wrote this story. He is a urban fiction genius. I loved it, a REAL hood tale!!!

I loved the story & the different plots ... how they all were somewhat woven together was great.. hopefully this is not a give away, but the ending is GREAT...HAHAHA.
