Publisher's Summary

Secrets are revealed, sides are chosen, and bodies are dropped - it's on!

After being thought dead, Animal resurfaces on the streets of New York to keep true to his promise and make it rain blood over Harlem. All those who had wronged him would feel his wrath, including Shai Clark, boss of the New York underworld. But touching a man like Shai Clark proves easier said than done. Using Animal's soul mate, Gucci, as bait, Shai sets a trap for the young killer.

Once again Animal finds himself captured, but this time there will be no trial. He is sentenced to die at the hands of Shai's executioner, a man known only as Priest. The assassin is ordered to kill Animal, but instead of death he gives him the truth of his shadowed past and how their destinies are intertwined. The man ordered to take Animal from the world is also the man who brought him into it.

Animal finds himself torn between his hatred for the father who had abandoned him and the man who had taken everything from him. An uneasy truce is formed between father and son to take down a common enemy and finally grant Animal his freedom from the blood debt he's carried for so many years. But when the ghosts of Animal's past catch up with him, he learns that nothing is what it seems, and everything is subject to corruption - even his love for Gucci.

    "K'wan does it again!"
Would you listen to Animal 2: The Omen again? Why?

I loved every section of this book. This book held my attention from the beginning to the epilogue! The Animal series is definitely becoming my favorite.

What does Cary Hite bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Cary Hite has the perfect tone for K'wans storytelling

If you could take any character from Animal 2: The Omen out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I would take Ashanti and King out to dinner to see if they would open up about their way of thinking. Both are so smart (although ruthless). It would be Animal but I feel as though I know why he thinks the way that he does and handles life the way that he does.

    Any additional comments?

I love K'wan.... Keep it coming!

What could K'wan have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I enjoy all K'wan books and was lookin forward to this one. It was very dry & redundant. Alittle bit of action here and there. But I was disappointed.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Cary Hite?

Love Carey Hite as the narrator

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    NO!!

    "Gangster Grime"

Animal II is grimey good! Shoot'em up gangsters, crooked cops, and hold'em down divas, this book delivers. I was completely taken by Animal this time. He is surly hood but in this book I understood his street struggles. His father Priest is Rudy Ray Moore bad and comes in to save Animal by helping him take on his thuggish street enemies. Animal isn't happy to see Priest but allows himself to be mentored by his father. Priest is a cold blooded mercenary and he holds fast to others paying their debts with their blood. Growing up without his father Animal finds that he has more in common than he cared to admit but also finds some disturbing demons lurking under Priest's collar. This book digs deep into both Animal and Priest's history. I wasn't disappointed to find out where they came from and where they were going. I smell an Animal III after listening to this book and as always Cary Hite's performance is outstandly dramatic! He paints a vividly clear picture that will leave you in awe!

Where does Animal 2: The Omen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    At the top!!!!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it did. I really like how the writer connects the two books together; leaving you wanting you to hear the rest of the plot.

Which character – as performed by Cary Hite – was your favorite?

I like all of the characters, but I really like Animal of course and Gucci.

Who was the most memorable character of Animal 2: The Omen and why?

I think the Priest is the most memorable in this book. Without him, Animal wouldn't have had a chance!!!

    Any additional comments?

I'm hooked! I can't wait until the next book is released. This book was so good, I finished it in two days......

It was cool. True Animal fashion. Not enough twist though. Its cool to finish what you start.
