Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

Snarky Fun

I enjoyed this. The beginning was horrifying but Lacey's actions were funny. I enjoyed the story but it wasn't my favorite book of Molly Harpers. Lacey's family was very interesting and I abhor her husband but I did enjoy Lacey's journey of growing up. I liked the way the story wrapped up and it wasn't something I really saw coming. Amanda Ronconi did a very good job narrating and breathing life into the story.

just okay

I have to admit there was some very funny parts. But otherwise the story was a little too predictable. and not quite as funny as other reviewers had said. So I was very disappointed in the overall story and humor. I have been looking for something to really laugh at and only managed a few Chuckles. I did enjoy the narrator.

Narrator was terrible!

This narrator distracts from the story. I wanted to quit listening so many times just because of that.

Light entertaining listen

This was a fun listen all the way through. I would describe it as a romantic comedy. It was very entertaining and funny and kept me interested all the way through. I also found it reminiscent of Janet Evanovich's books.

The narrator had all the voices to go along with this story and certainly added to the enjoyment of the experience. She also has a knack for reading comedy, something not everyone can do well.

Brilliantly snarky!

I adore this brilliantly snarky revenge fantasy redeemed by romance. Ms Ronconi delivers a picture perfect performance that enhances Molly Harper’s hysterically funny novel. There are few books I reread, but this I go to when I need a dose of clever humor.

Jilted Wife and an Email list

Lacey is a house wife who finds out her husband is cheating on her with his secretary thanks to the drunk delivery person. I fell in love with Lacey and her family along with many other characters in this story. It made me laugh so much especially the email which starts off her having to hide and figure out what to do with her life. I loved how insane these characters were. And also loved Monroe. I was a bit hesitant to get this book because I thought it would be sad but I’m so glad I took a chance. I laughed so hard I almost fell down a few times with what these characters did. I loved Lacey trying to figure out who was and what she wanted. She found out she had a gift and found herself along with what she truly wanted and it was so worth it. And one last thing be careful where and when you go skinny dipping.

Great narration

Super witty and read perfectly! I’ve returned audiobooks because the narrator is so ill
Matched. This narrator made the book more enjoyable then the laugh out loud storyline.
