Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

Funny, sarcastic and a great summer

While the narration is beyond TERRIBLE, especially with some of the male voices, I still loved the story. I wish that there was a way that I could get to meet the main character. She's a hoot!

Excellent, once again!

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi are a winning pair.
One Last Thing... is well written, fun and heartfelt without being angst-ridden. Molly Harper writes wonderful characters that have believable thoughts and dialogue.

Sometimes a narrator and author really click and this is one of those times. Amanda Ronconi's narration is natural and she captures the tone of the overall book very well.

Great entertainment

This book is a signature Molly Harper novel: Entertaining and hilarious, with situations and one-liners that will have you wishing you were just as cleaver with words and lucky (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) to be in or able to witness those situations. Her characters are similar across her novels, yet different enough to have a fresh story line to enjoy.

This story follows Lacey Terwilliger, soon to be Lacey _______(insert maiden name here)due to a floral mis-delivery that leaves Lacey well aware of her husband's extramarital affair with his secretary. Being the writer of her husband's newsletter for his accounting firm, she depicts his short-comings and ineptitude in the next issue and sends it on its merry way into inboxes of family and friends. The proverbial poop hits the fan and she finds herself a hero and an outcast in her small town. Forced to take some time away to let the smoke settle, she closes herself up in her cabin by the lake in hopes to pull her life together. It is there that she meets her very sexy and very male neighbor, Monroe, who makes her rethink the no-penis policy she had instituted following the revelation of a failed marriage.

As you would expect, a story about a cheating spouse is sad at times, but not at all enough to warrant the need for tissues or even a second glance. The story is light and easy and has some good points about moving on and living your life after a heartbreaking event.

Narrator: Amanda Ronconi
Performance: 5/5
Ronconi is a great match with Harper's characters. She does a great job with the voices and the accents.

Delightful

May I say Ms Harper’s descriptions and the content was just delightful. I laughed, scowled and laughed some more for the majority of the book.

Fun, Fun, Fun

Would you try another book from Molly Harper and/or Amanda Ronconi?

I would. I enjoy the "attitude" that Amanda lends the heroine in each story. She brings them to life as normal.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hard to choose a favorite but my tendency is to go for Nick. He hung in there when he could have just picked himself up and skeedattled out of there at the first sign of trouble. Gotta love that.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Amanda is an interesting character voice....she has made the Molly Harper characters believable and as I said, normal. I enjoy her little bit of sass and think she was an excellent fit for the feeling that Molly Harper wanted to portray.

Could you see And One Last Thing... being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

oh wow. Now that would be fun. Need a female lead who can pull off sarcastic, sassy and strong without seeming overbearing and obnoxious. I'll have to think on that .
Nicks character needs to be the sweet nerd, with a soft side.

Any additional comments?

Thanks for a good "read" Molly Harper. Amanda, you made it fun and I appreciated that.

If you are a woman scorned... this ones for you!

Where does And One Last Thing... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5 of this genre! Possibly top 15 overall.

What was one of the most memorable moments of And One Last Thing...?

I really loved when her mother-in-law comes to see her at her mothers house after she sends out the emailed newsletter.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

I loved all of them, but the mens voices tended to sound the same. It was still great narration though!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me proud of her! As usual, when the book ended I felt like I had lost a friend.

Any additional comments?

If you are going through the drama of having a cheating spouse this book is for you. Download it, listen to it all the way through and let go of your own drama for a few hours like I did. It is a nice distraction to the obsession that follows infidelity.
