Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

Funny, witty and a delightful experience

I loved this book. Made me laugh out loud several times. Only problem is it wasn’t long enough for me. I am eagerly awaiting what Molly Harper will write next and Amanda Ronconi did a fantastic job narrating.

Fun, witty, thoroughly enjoyable read (well, listen). One of my Molly Harper all-time favorites, so far. Amanda Ronconi does a fantastic job.

Another great listen

I have been listening to Molly Harper for years now and this is another gem. The characters are well-developed and chock full of...well...character. I love her snarky tone and, as usual, the story is narrated wonderfully by Amanda Ronconi. Thanks for another great listen!

A great summer listen.

This was my first Molly Harper. Definitely won't be my last. While I didn't agree with all the choices her characters made, I loved the story, the witty dialogue and the performance. Next up for me--the first in the Nice Girls Don't series. Can't wait!

This was a very funny and cute story. Although it was predictable I really enjoyed it and it was exactly what I needed to read at the time. Whenever I am in the mood to read a funny book I look to Molly Harper to meet my need.

Wickedly Entertaining

If someone told me a year ago that I would be listening to a audio romance novel, performed by a lady with a deep Southern drawl, I would have smacked them over the head with my unabridged copy of War and Peace. Nevertheless, I took a chance on this author and have no regrets... except that it was entirely too short! Ms. Harper’s sarcastic storytelling was deliciously wicked, and Amanda’s voice captured the characters’ quirky charms beautifully!

I’ve added other Molly Harper novels to my library in hopes to find another gem like this one.

One of my all-time favorites

I have actually had this book for awhile, and have listened to it a few times. Sure, it IS a typical, light-hearted romance with a quintessential happy ending, BUT it is also hilarious and one of those books that makes you want to do that thing you have been wanting to do... finally. plus, the narrator is great for this part and adds so much to the author's sarcastic, satirical, and beyond amusing voice. Must read.

Haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time!!

Everything about this listen/book was wonderful! The storyline was strong and heart-breaking, as cheating happens way too often, but the narration was nothing short of brilliant!! Very well performed - I will be searching for more stories with Amanda Ronconi as the narrator!
