Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

Fun

This book was enjoyable. It made me laugh and it gave me a chance to immerse myself in a story just for the plain fun of it. The time went quickly and I just found myself loving the escapism of it.

How could this go so wrong

I would like to say that I've read the other audio books by Molly and this was the worst.
It took the story 6 hours to get marginally better. For the first 6 hours it detailed without humor or any interesting twists the misery which is being cheated on and divorced from in a small town. Since I am (for now) a married never before divorced female these were painful, dragging, sad, but unable to identify with the character, 6 hours.
Then it got a bit better - the part where she is getting over the sad part and becomes funny aka last three hours...
I would like to point that I've listened to the whole story on a speed of 1.5 or 1.25 (thanks to iphone)
On top of this(!!!) the writer describes the process of book writing in unnecessary/not funny/ little addition to the plot detail at which point I was about ready to go to speed 2.0 aka to skim/skip the book.
My point is - unless you were cheated on or divorced from and would like to rehash those unpleasant feelings (OMG why would you?!?) - do not read this book (if neither of these 2 experiences happened to you do not read this book)
However if you are in the process of recovering from either being cheated or being divorced this book might EITHER give you girl power feeling
OR push you over the edge into depression.
*****
This being said I did like the other 2 books by the writer - she is funny - even in some parts towards the end of this book and I will buy her work again - though I will read more carefully the plot of the book before jumping into that decision :)

Made my commute a little more enjoyable...

Would you listen to And One Last Thing... again? Why?

I don't re-read books, so I'm not going to re-listen to a book either. I rarely re-watch movies. Once you've heard/read the book, you know what happens, there isn't a reason to re-listen to the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of And One Last Thing...?

There are some great moments in this book. Any scorned woman can relate with the main character, however I did have trouble relating because I don't understand being a woman today that will so gladly submit their lives to their husbands and be so blind. Additionally, I can't imagine my life without my children, so to be married for 7 years and childless by choice, I don't understand that.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You're welcome to my sloppy seconds...

Chick Lit, tried and true..

Would you listen to And One Last Thing... again? Why?

It was a cute story, predictable in terms of where the story was heading. Wife is wronged and exacts revenge, turning her life upside down. While upside down she sees the world differently and it turns out to be a good thing.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but she is a great reader. I felt she had perfect tone for the character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are some great zingers in the book.

Any additional comments?

I liked it.

Short, sweet, to the point!

The narrator kept me coming back for more! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And in this day and age all it takes is just one email.
