Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.
Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.
Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

"Harper brings her trademark humor and biting social comedy to this hilarious tale of heartbreak and romance, a novel that should be on the summer reading list of every woman who has been wronged." (Booklist)
This was as funny and heart warming as the werewolf stories by Molly.
Amanda's narration was great. She added to the story with her accent and voices of the various characters to bring them to life.
I didn't want to stop listening to it and would have liked to go through it in one sitting.
Love a story w/ humor,romance,adventure, w/out a lot of bickering,& good deals.
Good author, well written, funny and keeps interest. Recomend to those who like romance/ humor.
This book was such a fun read. I loved the light romance and over the top funny moments. I made the mistake of listening to this at work, and caught myself cracking up several times. Amanda Ronconi does a great job with the narration.
I prefer her other two series, just cuz I like supernatural fiction (and maybe because I have an old ex-boyfriend story, too...) ;-) Still, Molly Harper's sense of humor, combined with Amanda Ronconi's delivery, well, it's a combination too good to pass up.
I started this book immediately after finishing Game of Thrones. It was the perfect selection after such a heavy, dark tale. I absolutely loved the sarcastic humor.
Laugh out loud funny.
Since finishing it I have since listened to
Funny, Real, Sad, Romance...Just what I was looking for, I wanted something light and fun to brighten up the winter weather we are having. I have recommended this book to my book club as a must read as it isn't long so they can add it to their other reads and just have some fun. This is one of the times I found myself laughing out loud and looked to see if anyone saw me.
Made me laugh a lot.
Lacey she's sarcastic & nice- hard to pull off
All of it, & she does a good job w/male voices
Emmitt- hysterical, supportive, takes charge of his sister's hair after getting her drunk
Love Molly Harper, her characters are easy to relate to & humorous
If you want something mindless, simple fun with a feel good ending- this is a chick lit for you. Don't need to do any thinking- its funny and predictable.
This book was not quite as funny, nor the heroine quite as sassy, as I hoped for. Still, it was a nice relaxing listening experience.
The only thing that aggravated me, but which is not specific to this book, is that everybody seems to have plenty of money. Who will write a boy-gets-girl story where the protagonist-s have to work and scrimp and save?
Sometimes you need a little light fluff. I would recommend this book, it is easy to listen to and made me smile.
The ending was good and tied up all loose ends.
When she has the face off with the mother in law
Yes, I enjoyed.
