Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

The Dynamic Duo

Once again, Molly Harper’s engaging storytelling, and wonderfully snarky wit is paired perfectly with Amanda Ronconi’s interpretation.

Fun read with a wonderful message

Loved the revenge, done with humor. Just the perfect blend of humor, revenge and a real message that isn't shoved in your face. Lots of laughs and feel good moments. I will read this one again.

Took a chance...

With no prior knowledge of this author or narrator, the story sounded like it could be interesting, I was hoping it didn't wallow in self pity. Well, there were times I laughed hard enough to get the hiccups. A few times I was wheezing and speechless. Some characters were a bit short on, well, character. But it was very funny, the way things are when they hit so near the mark. If you want a Summer Read, even in the depths of winter, get this one!

Harper/Ronconi: The Perfect Team

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi are the perfect duo. Molly is a clever, inventive writer and Amanda is a very talented lady. Put them together and it's P.F.M.! The story is interesting, laugh-out-loud funny, and a bit different from her paranormal vampire/werewolf stories, while still being classic Molly Harper. The supporting characters are still quirky and the less-than-perfect heroine is still snarky. The male lead is not the stereotypical hot guy. In fact, he's actually a bit unlikeable at first, which only makes the story more interesting. I felt genuinely sorry for Lacey at first, when she discovered her husband's infidelity. But then got quite a chuckle as she, not being one to sit around crying and wringing her hands, gets her revenge in a big way.

Amanda Ronconi has the perfect voice for Molly Harper's characters; full of personality with just the right "edge". She brings the characters to life. She does a fairly decent job with the male voices as well, which, I can imagine, must be difficult for a woman. Her voice is not a typical female voice. At times she almost sounds like an adolescent boy, which makes her perfect to voice the strong, snarky gals Harper likes to write about.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you have read anything by Molly Harper, and enjoyed it, you will like this book. Just be warned that you won't find any ghosts, vamps, or werewolves; only strange familial characters and lots of the expected laughs.

Molly does it again.. another fun read!

I really, really, like Molly Harper's stories. This one was the last of her stories, to date anyway, and I'm sad there are no more to listen to. I'm hoping she turns into quite the prolific writer! I'll support her by happily buying any story she writes.

This one is very typical for a romance, but at the same time, it's very different. Our heroine, Lacey, is very much the typical housewife who has lived life as her husbands supporter. Everything revolves around him until the day she discovers the affair.

When it came to where Lacey was writing the company newsletter and you hear the narrator, Amanda Ronconi's fabulous voice laden with sarcasm, reading the newsletter out loud as it's being written, well I laughed my butt off. I was cheering Lacey on and wishing I'd had some of the authors ability with words to use in my own daily life.

So while you know it's a romance and she finds her right guy... it's still a fun read and a different type of story line.

If you like a sassy, funny and slightly sarcastic book, then this one is for you. Any book that has me laughing out loud in surprise and delight, is a book I will be listening to again. It made a 3 hour drive, plus a full day at the hospital (Mom having surgery), just sail by. I used the headphones and kept listening, although it surprised the hospital staff quite a bit when there was this strange woman sitting in a waiting room all alone and laughing out loud!!

I'm so sad to have reached the end of Molly Harpers audiobooks. :( But at least I can find out what other books the narrator, Amanda Ronconi, worked on. As far as I'm concerned, Amanda's rendition of Molly Harper's books elevates them to fantastic and fabulous. I'm a very happy customer indeed!

Cute...

What made the experience of listening to And One Last Thing... the most enjoyable?

I am a big fan of Molly Harper but this was a little different for me. Not as funny as her other books but kept my attention.

pure entertainment

I listen to mostly non-fiction and I was looking for something light and entertaining. This fit the bill. I smiled most of the time while listening. It was entertaining and full of fun.
