Publisher's summary

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town, a media punch line, and the defendant in Mike's defamation lawsuit.

Her seemingly perfect life up in flames, Lacey retreats to her family's lakeside cabin, only to encounter an aggravating neighbor named Monroe. A hunky crime novelist with a low tolerance for drama, Monroe is not thrilled about a newly divorced woman moving in next door. But with time, beer, and a screen door to the nose, a cautious friendship develops into something infinitely more satisfying.

Lacey has to make a decision about her long-term living arrangements, though. Should she take a job writing caustic divorce newsletters for paying clients, or move on with her own life, pursuing more literary aspirations? Can she find happiness with a man who tells her what he thinks and not what she wants to hear? And will she ever be able to resist saying one... last... thing?

A fun, snarky, sassy tale

Oooooh, such fun! And One Last Thing is filled with snark, and sass and poignant speak about a woman scorned. When housewife Junior Leaguer Lacey learns that her spineless, dickless, faithless husband accountant, Mike, is cheating on her with his receptionist, Bee Bee, Lacey lashes out with a laugh-out-loud newsletter she emails to Mike's clients and their friends. Thus, starts the divorce proceedings.

I would guess that Molly Harper's choice of language throughout the book may not sit well with the prim and proper, but I was applauding her realism. While the book's intent is humor, I was struck by how real it felt; I have been on the downside of relationships, and never have they turned out far from where Molly took Lacey - in the gutter.

This is a great book, and Ms. Harper is a fantastic writer. If you're looking for a fun, funny, man-hating-but-come-around-style book, And One Last Thing is a good bet. I'm already looking for my next Molly Harper read.

Stinger gets stung

Where does And One Last Thing... rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely among the top. The story is light, easy to get into, super funny, and the narrator infused enough personality into the characters to make them individuals.

What was one of the most memorable moments of And One Last Thing...?

When Lacey meets Monroe's family. They're relatable, maybe a little over-the-top, but it works. You get the feeling that this group is genuinely fond of each other.

If you could sum up And One Last Thing... in three words, what would they be?

Funny, Entertaining, Hopeful

What did you like best about this story?

The interactions with Lacey and all the people she comes across is hilarious! You want to root for Lacey and Monroe, see Lacey get through her divorce and read all the repercussions of that divorce.

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator Amanda Ronconi did an excellent job! She made the characters come alive. I don't think I would have laughed so much if she hadn't narrated the story.

Who was the most memorable character of And One Last Thing... and why?

Definitely the main character Lacey! She is funny, loveable and endearing.

Any additional comments?

I initially bought the book as a 2 for 1 special and it's one of the best purchases I've made. Molly brings so much fun to this book. The interactions with all of the characters are soooo funny!!! I caught myself laughing out loud many times. I look forward to future books.

Another hit by Harper

Definitely filled with Harper's trademark snark and humor. The characters are people that could live next door. Harper does an excellent job in making her characters "real" and keeping the storyline interesting. Definitely worth a credit. Ranconi does another excellent job with the narration.

Fantastic

Absolutely fantastic. I was looking for a romantic comedy that was not full of romance for the sake of romance and avoidant of sex just to sell the book. This was genuinely laugh out loud funny. Of course, the narrator deserves as much credit as the author. If there is one thing that I can’t stand, it is narrators who simply read the book. This narrator was fantastic. I could feel the character’s emotions through the narrator. This may be the best audible that I have ever listened to.

Hysterical, you have to read this book!

I loved this book, it was so funny, and fun to listen to. You probably have to be married or divorced to really connect with it, if you're a newly wed this might not be that funny, but I've been married almost 25 years and it was spot on.
