"Enjoyable...a flowing tale of strong wills and, of course, romance." (Omaha World Herald)
This is a western romance the way it should be, and the narration couldn't have been more enjoyable.
Pretty basic western romance. Good characters, a splash of humor - not a whole lot of steam in the romance department, but a good story nonetheless.
A western with a splash of romance. For the most part, I like this story. There were just a few things here and there that could have been done differently.
Johanna Lindsey is one of my favourite romance authors, and this book did not disappoint. Her writing is as good as always, with well-rounded characters, an interesting plot and plenty of funny and witty dialogs. Casey and Damien are perfect for each other and it’s refreshing to see that, for once, the male hero is the one in need of help. Of course, there are some small issues as well. One cannot help but wonder at the length of time it took for him to realise that Casey is, in fact, a woman. Also, the language is not necessarily in keeping with the times. But as I do not think this is meant to be historically accurate in the first place, I do not mind it. All in all, it’s a very enjoyable listen and I cannot wait for my new credits to arrive so I can purchase another of her books :)
