Publisher's Summary

Here are two fictional short stories of life in the Alaskan Bush. "Frozen" deals with a day in the life of a fur trapper when nothing goes right. He is alone, and far from civilization in extremely cold weather. "The Battle for the Gold" is about three close friends who decide to form a partnership in a gold mine and the dreaded gold fever sets in motion the destruction of all three.

    Story
    "Brings me back to Alaska."
What made the experience of listening to Alaskan Tales of Cold and Gold the most enjoyable?

Hearing this story brought back memories of visiting Alaska. Descriptions of what it takes to live in the cold weather extremes, and of gold fever make me remember what makes Alaska unique.

Which character – as performed by Daniel David Shapiro – was your favorite?

Daniel David Shapiro played the narrator of the stories. He has a rugged mountain-man style to his voice that perfectly embodied the character of the narrator.
