Publisher's summary

A rising star in Christian fiction, Karen Witemeyer brilliantly blends humor and romance in this compelling debut novel.

Texas liveryman Jericho “J.T.” Tucker wants nothing to do with the town’s new dressmaker, Hannah Richardson. He’s all too familiar with her kind - shallow, more devoted to fashion than true beauty. Except for her well-tailored clothing, however, she’s not at all what he expected. Although J.T.’s assumptions and gruff manner rile Hannah, she finds her heart strangely stirred by him - and by his unexpected acts of kindness.

Very glad I checked this one out!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Tailor-Made Bride to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, so I don't know. I don't really think one would be better than the other though.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Tailor-Made Bride?

The whole section when J.T. goes out to search for Hannah in the storm, and the little bit afterwards. It's incredibly romantic and sweet. Very touching.

What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

The laughter and fun that you might just skip over when reading. You can see the smirks and smiles as she's reading.

If you could rename A Tailor-Made Bride, what would you call it?

It's a great title, honestly, and I can't think of anything to change it too... Maybe A Tailor-Made Romance, instead of Bride.

Any additional comments?

I'm really glad I took the chance on this one. I've now discovered a new Christian author that I have come to enjoy. After listening to this book, I bought her other two, and I'm incredibly happy to have done so. This being Karen Witemeyer's first book, you can really see how she's growing in her writing. Head in the Clouds was great, as was To Win Her Heart.

The thing I love most about her books is that the relationships are real. The main characters don't beat around the bush or let little petty misunderstandings get in the way of things. Sure there are things to work through, but it's incredibly sweet. I highly recommend A Tailor-Made Bride. :)

Young author, Karen Witemeyer, has a real talent..

...for storytelling, and I hope that Audible will feature all of her books.
Set in the old American West, A TAILOR-MADE BRIDE is quite a cute story and one wonders how our heroine, feisty, high spirited, Hanna Richards, an Artistic Dressmaker is going to overcome the abrupt and brusque manner of one Jericho ???JT??? Tucker. Owner of the local livery.
Sparks fly and feelings get hurt, but...
Love does conquer all, even a stinking old widower falls under the loving kindness of Hanna.
Lots of adventures in this story, one you will want to add to your inspirational library.
I really enjoy these wonderful books.
You won't have to fast forward because of graphic sex or violence. A pure listening joy.

Sweet Romance! Read it twice.

My favorite of all her novels. I read it, then I audiobooked it. The heroine is everything I want to be. Strong, spiritual, clever, generous, kind, loving, and healthy. I want to give the Hero a pat on the head to tell him he has handled his lot in life well, and to not be discouraged by the need to grow a little more. Very romantic in Texas!
The narrator is unknown to me, but I enjoyed the subtle way she went from descriptions of the scenery to the dialogue. It isn't easy to read a story from multiple points of view. She kept all the voices straight and did a good job being lighthearted amidst the drama.

Pure romance and enjoyable events

If you could sum up A Tailor-Made Bride in three words, what would they be?

Beauty is not a sin

What other book might you compare A Tailor-Made Bride to and why?

A head in the clouds by the same author .. the romance is very much the same

Which scene was your favorite?

The hero was mad at the heroin and she told him to give her his tools to fix her shop .. he rejected her request but later on he gave it to her .. it was heart warming

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did laugh at some point in this book

Any additional comments?

A very enjoyable listen.

This is the second story by the author, Karen W, that I have listened to, and I have enjoyed them both. Though the storyline is a bit predictable, the characters are interesting and there are just enough turns to keep it interesting. I needed a break from my usual murder mystery/suspense genre for something more wholesome and relaxing--and Karen W gave me just what I needed. I recommend her.

Outstanding Novel

Jericho Tucker’s mother left the family for a man who could provide her with fancier things, and it left him scarred. When the new dressmaker, moves into town, he’s sure she’ll be a temptation to the women with her bright colors and fancy clothes. He hope his sister has more sense than to be led astray by pretty trappings.

Hannah Richards is excited for the opportunity to have her own dress shop. However, she can’t understand why the livery owner doesn’t like her. When she agrees to help his sister get the man she's interested in to notice her, Jericho’s real animosity comes out. How can she show him pretty things aren’t evil in and of themselves?

I’ve loved all of Karen Witemeyer’s novels, but this just might be the best one yet. If not, it’s very close. These characters are delightful and so well-developed they’ll stay with me for a while. I really hated to see this one end. #Heartfelt #Funny #HappyEnding #American West #ChangingMind

Pretty good story.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes...I like her books. They are good christian stories and makes me think of Little House on the Prairie or the Love Comes Softly series.

If you’ve listened to books by Karen Witemeyer before, how does this one compare?

Yes...I listened to To Win Her Heart. Although I liked this one, I enjoyed that one even more. While the characters are good in this book, they aren't as deep as the ones in To Win Her Heart.

Which scene was your favorite?

I would have to say when J.T. saves Hannah...you can tell that after that things change so much between the two of them...call it the hopeless romantic in me...but I loved it!

Did A Tailor-Made Bride inspire you to do anything?

I don't know that it inspired me...but it really brought out the point that you can't judge a book by it's cover or in this case, people. :)

Any additional comments?

Overall it was a good story...worth a listen.

Clean and wholesome love story!

I’m really enjoying this author’s books! Being a student of the Bible the added occasional verse or lesson is nice. The only thing I have noticed is that at times the understanding of some of the scriptures is skewed. But understanding comes through more study.
I look forward to reading more from this author! The narrator is top notch also!

Sweet and Uplifting

I especially enjoyed watching the main characters search the Bible for answers to life’s questions. Not preachy, but truly Christians searching how to live life following Christ.
