What begins as an earnest spring-clean soon spirals out of control. The more Lou lets go of, the more light can get to those painful places at the centre of her heart. When she meets hunky local man Tom Broom, she sees her philandering husband in a very different light. But, even with Tom's help, can Lou Winter manage to put the spring back into her step? And who knows where her newfound zest for the stripped-back life will take her next?

Ah yes.... the summer. When you want to relax with a light book that has just enough drama and conflict to engage your curiosity & make your listening time worthwhile.
Voila! Milly Johnson will fill that prescription nicely with A Spring Affair.
Ms. Johnson has quite a few plot-balls in the air but juggles them all nicely.
There's the friction created by the heroine's husband; the best friend who is needed but may not be around; a friend who is around but may not be needed and career aspirations which lurk in the background on the potential trail to happiness.
Not to mention a man who would be someone of interest to any single woman. Which our heroine is not....
The narration by Colleen Prendegast is spot-on.
I liked the characters and I liked the plot... I cared what happened in the end.
What more can you ask of a fun summer read?
I loved how the author shows how one small change can change your whole life. Excellent and inspiring!
I am a total audiobook addict! I travel quite a bit for work and listen to them while I drive. Always searching for a good author to follow
I really enjoy the narrator for Milly Johnson books. Also a great story
It's all really good, but I do love the parts with Lou and Tom
She is lovely! I have listed to her quite a few times now and she is always great
This is a fantastic story, I love all Milly books and have listened to them all more than once.
Yes...I couldn't stop listening. I spent a majority of my time listening and waiting for Lou to be happy. Not your typical rom com but it makes you realize not everyone married is happily married.
Can't say without giving the book awake.
Couldn't stop listening. Very easy and enjoyable audiobook
Lou. Because she took charge of her life and changed it for the better
I don't know have not read the story
Some lines really made you chuckle..........well read just an enjoyable story away from the day to day life. A bit predictable at the end but a good soapie.
She is a lovely reader and you easily get into the story. A good reading voice.
Dreams can come true.
Its an weird thing but my favourite genre to read is murder/mystery books but when it comes to audio books, I love ChicLit! Odd I know!
As always, I so enjoy Milly Johnson's books. Her stories are so easy to follow, funny, heart warming etc and this one ticks all the boxes.
It is a light read but sometimes you just need the simple stories. As with most of Milly's books she always has that "secret" which keeps you reading as you have to find out what happens and this one is no exception.
It centres around a bunch of girl friends who go on a cruise and testimony to the writing, after finishing the book, I jumped on a cruising holiday website.
If you love Chick-lit, don't miss out on this one,
Characters were good with a likable protagonist. Pace was not fast but not plodding, and it was predictable but not in a way that detracts from the story. It is not difficult to guess how the story is going to end, but the journey to that end is very satisfying.
Well yes I would.
I liked the simplicity and could absolutely empathise with protagonist.
No I haven't so far. But she is good.
Well I liked the book in its entirety.
I really enjoyed listening to it and would recommend it.
An avid listener of audio books.
I loved this book. The story is very believable and entertaining. I'll definitely be checking out more from this author. The narration was wonderful too. I'm so sad it's over.
"another fabulous book"
I love all Milly's books . again I laughed out loud and cried a bit in places. a complete natural storyteller with a wicked sense of humour. can't leave out Colleen the narrator with her gorgeous Yorkshire accent. keep them coming Milly
Once I got into it I really enjoyed it and loved the happy ever after ending
"A really good 'feel good' book"
I've read a few Milly Johnson books and love the way that there are a few characters who each have their own storyline - in this book it was concentrated upon Lou the main character.
So glad it came good for her
Really good descriptions which made you totally believe the characters
"Stick with it!"
I nearly gave up on A Spring Affair, it was a little dull at first. Defiantly improved as the story unravelled. A little predictable, but easy listening, dotted with humour.
a surprise, loved it
great characters and beautifully written, will look up some more books of hers
"Another good one"
I have only just found this author and this is the 2nd novel I would recommend this to every one
