Publisher's summary

Evelyn Winters enjoyed spending the summers at her grandmother's cabin. There was always something interesting to do, whether tending the garden or exploring the surrounding swampy forest of the Smoky Mountains. She never cared to learn the witching ways of her grandmother - until the devil showed up. When Eldon Jenkins is found dead, torn limb from limb by a wild beast, and the devil comes creeping around the cabin, grandma keeps it at bay. But when grandma goes missing, Evelyn must rely on her wits, training, and dormant abilities to make it through that final night before the gates of hell finally close. Will she survive? Or will the devil usurp her soul? (Please Note: This is a short story!)

A supernatural enjoyment

The narrator has a excellent and clear voice for all the parts of the reading.. not to high pitch, not to quiet where you have to raise the volume to uncomfortable levels.. The story it self was very nice.. You can clearly envision what the writer was writing. It has a feel similar to Mercedies Lackey's Diana Tregarde trilogy, like there is a supernatural world unseen but it is there in darkness and you just stumbled into it... I really hope to see more of the author's writings on Audible

A great story made even better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The narrator truly brought this story out in full bloom. His portrayal of the characters through voice took an amazing story to a new level of whisking me away into the scenes right along with him. Even my friend who does not read this genre, stated this was a good story and enjoyed it.

What about Scott R. Smith’s performance did you like?

He made each character unique and was always spot on when going back to the voice of each character. A wonderful story teller.
