What made the experience of listening to A Rare Book of Cunning Device the most enjoyable?

The whole premise was an enticing bit of bait for those of us waiting for the next Peter Grant book. Definately get's you speculating about future story lines.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I have always enjoyed the venerable Postmartin.

Which scene was your favorite?

The very last one- left me hanging and most unhappy it was over!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I never have liked Insects...

Any additional comments?

IF he wants to do a Short- then it needs to be complete and not this "get me all worked up and then leave me with nothing" kind of short. Nobody likes a Tease!

it was funny and interesting and kept me listening I wanted to know what happened next

Original, Charming and Short.

An Audible original story with magic, books, a charmed library was great company for my afternoon walk.
The narrator had a great British accent reminiscent of Neil Gaiman and the story was refreshingly devoid of murder, yet held some suspense and a modicum of charm.

A fun listen for in a short story. These books are so entertaining. Try them.

Well you caught me!

I loved this short story so much it made me go look up the author and the narrator. I've been stuck reading certain mysteries over and over during the pandemic Books I know the endings to because I couldn't take anything that I didn't already know. (Sigh, but I think I read for something new). I love the narrator's voice and the funny quirky characters interactions with each other. So I'm giving book one a chance and if I like it I'll probably read them all (unless they start repeating themselves).

Loved it! Was not expecting to connect with the characters yet I did, and every single one of the. So glad I gave this book a chance! Highly recommend it.

Great for a short break

My mental (sound?) image of Peter was a bit too different for me to really get into the narrative, but overall a very enjoyable short.
