Publisher's summary

To Neil Rucker, seven months, one week, and a day is too long to wait in between dates. But life as a Spanish teacher to missionaries in Ecuador affords little opportunity for romance.

When his worst student, Jay Jarvis, suggests a respite in Greenville, South Carolina, so begins Neil's delirious summer. Neil sees his chance to meet a sweet succession of Southern women, but little does he know that the girls of Greenville are now more elusive than a snowflake in the Ecuadorian jungle.

As they church-hop in Greenville, Neil tries to find the perfect girl among the Neapolitan choices: a demanding redhead, a joy-riding blonde, and a very tardy but intriguing girl with raven hair and a pierced eyebrow. Who knew relational gumbo would look like this?

Great Read

This is an excellent read. I would recommend it to anyone. When one reads the description, you would think it to be a purely entertaining book, however, there is more to this story then meets the eye. This story has some truly unexpected insight into thought relative to relationships and bonding.

Two in a Row!

Ray's second book is as good as his first. His light humor and realistic characters keep the story moving as they date, hopscotch and have adventures. Couldn't put it down!

Humorous and well defined characters

I enjoyed every minute of this book. I found it to be very entertaining and humorous while still delivering a message. I loved the characters in this book, many taken from the author's previous book. I look forward to the next ones.

Fun, clean, family-friendly book, good for summer vacation or when you are wishing for summer!

Husband of 37 years and I both enjoyed this! Kinda like a chick-flick movie, but written from the guy’s perspective. Don’t read if you are hostile toward churches or Christians. Andrew Petersen does a great job reading it, too.

If I had a teen...

Friends tell me that I ought to lighten up my reading life. So I tired some chick lit, but found most of it boring, poorly written, and often containing too much explicit sex (made more graphic by audio format, even if was cliched). When I saw this on sale, I thought Christian chick lit (or lad lit, I guess, in this case) might be better. If I had a teenager, I'd be glad if she/he read this, but it was a dull listen for middle-aged me.

Fabuloso!

Ray Blackston has done it again! I have read all of his books. I love the descriptive, charmingly southernness of his stories. These are worth repeatedly listening to and I always discover new cleverly written phrases to ponder a bit longer. Give it a try. You won’t be sorry!
