This is a collection of the second six short stories in the Caverns and Creatures series. It includes the following titles:
"Cooper's Christmas Carol"
"Sticky White Mess"
©2014 Robert Bevan (P)2016 Robert Bevan
Bottom line is Robert Bevan has created an excellent series with Caverns and Creatures. My problem is that Audible does not put Bevan's books out quickly. Also there was no forewarning that this book was coming to audible, I found it by hapchance.
Cooper - Cooper needs no explanation
These stories keep getting better and better. Many of these shorts had me laughing so completely while listening to them in the car that other drivers were looking at me concerned. I look forward to each new release of this series.
So I listened to the first Critical Failures book out of boredom. Now I can't wait to hear the other books. 2D6 remains consistent with the previous offerings and I am entertained. Jonathan Sleep's joke delivery fits well with the material and his characters voices give them a fun and easy personality. Looking forward to much more.
Everything Cooper does
It's like listening to Space Balls...but better
Both, plus an erection
Roses are red
Balls are blue
I love Jonathan Sleep
and Robert Bevan too!

By the time you come across the comment I included in the headline for this review you will have no doubt whatsoever that you have made an audiobook purchase you can be proud of.
I have never picked up whatever kind of dice used by individuals who found themselves wrapped up in fantasy gaming and all of that nonsense. I was usually too busy being outside in the sun usually either kicking, catching, hitting, throwing or running with balls of varying sizes, shapes and mass.
Be that as it may, I have come to love the whole series of audiobooks of which 2d6 is the latest edition. Robert Bevan has hit upon a truly fun storyline that could spawn just about endless different stories and scenarios for the four man / elf / orc crew who run about causing trouble, getting into dicey situations and squeaking through in the end still in one piece but usually covered in some sort of slime, spider splodge (sp.?), snot or runny crap that tends to discharge out of Cooper's septic ass at regular intervals throughout every one of the stories in this audiobook. With this in mind, I am duty bound to say at this point that Cooper's gaseous effusions were shatteringly effective on several occasions.
Cooper is the driving force behind each story. His comments regarding how much Dave sucks, or when he lets everyone know how angry he is at a given moment keeps the dialogue flowing. Cooper doesn't put up with any bullshit or excuses. When he throws out a "Fuck you dude!" or "Merry Christmas mother fuckers!" or "That fucker gored me in the nuts!" you know the situation is well in hand.
To conclude this review, I will just say that 2d6 is a must purchase. Drop the dime, it's worth your time!
My god, these books were all so good. Once I finished the first one, I had to keep getting the next one until I had read them all because I was completely addicted. It's the perfect way to unplug from your day and just laugh till your sides hurt. seriously the best thing I've heard since I started listening a year and a half ago. I so look forward to the next one.
How many Audible customers have written Robert Bevan--or if it's just the other reviewer and myself? Right before this book came out, I asked if I should stop searching weekly for a new book. The act of customers sending email to a writer because Audible does not promote his books, even among those that have bought them all, is grievous oversight. [He graciously responded.]
As for the book itself:
Either you will love it or hate it. If you can appreciate base humor with your fantasy worlds, you'll love it. That's all you need to know.
I listen to many audiobooks and review the ones I find most notable.
This is a collection of short stories set in the Caverns and Creatures universe. They are related to the 4 Critical Failure novels, but the short stories do not integrate into the timeline of the main novels. Therefore, you can read them in any order and they provide a good introduction for the novels. These stories (and the novels) are a lot of fun. Unless you don't like poop and dick jokes. If you are offended by this sort of thing, walk away. If these things still make you giggle like a fourteen year old boy, these books are for you. Highly recommend.
"Another great collection of mini adventures"
I've now listened to all the audio books in the series, and every single one has been fantastic! The mini series of stories are great, and link perfectly with the rest of the series. I can't wait for the next release!
