Publisher's summary

You are being stolen from. Your money is being debased, your labor is being debased, your civilization and all of its institutions are being debased. You're having to work longer for less pay. You see your friends and family less and less. You eat worse food, you sleep a little less, and your neighborhood gets a little more impersonal every year. Your life is getting worse, and you are paying for someone else's excess. How did this happen, and why is it happening?

Fiat Ruins Everything is an analysis of the debasement of the modern world from our banking system and real estate to our educational system and art. Learn why these systems keep getting worse and why Bitcoin will make things better. Fiat Ruins Everything delivers a knockout punch, unmasking the pervasive destruction caused by the fiat currency system while highlighting the hope found in Bitcoin.

Critic reviews

"This is essential listening for anyone that feels played by the current system but knows, deep down inside, that prosperity and abundance can still be achieved." (Preston Push, host of The Investor's Podcast)

"If you sense that something is wrong, but you can’t quite put your finger on it, read this book. Society is being corrupted and Jimmy neatly spells out why with excellent examples that bring his point home. Fiat Ruins Everything is a thoughtful exploration tracing out the many problems brought about by fiat money, and it’s well worth the read." (Stephan Livera, host of the Stephan Livera Podcast)

"For the vast majority of people living in modernity, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet. Few understand that this is a direct consequence of the central planning of money. In Fiat Ruins Everything, author Jimmy Song does an excellent job explaining the malevolent nature of fiat currency, and why sound money is the only viable solution to our modern economic malaise." (Robert Breedlove, host of The "What is Money?" Show)

This book makes a lot of claims

I am very pro bitcoin. I have been a sound money advocate since the 80s and appreciate a lot of what Jimmy is talking about. However to say that bitcoin fixes all of what he covers is specious. If it becomes accepted as the medium of exchange a lot of his claims may come true. Even El Salvador has not yet achieved this paradise depicted and they have had remarkable progress. The book is very inspiring however and that is very helpful in these immigrating times.

An absolutely must read for increasing your financial IQ!

This book is one of the best books you can read on how the economy actually works, how Fiat has ruined almost every aspect of human existence, and one of the most succinct defenses of how Bitcoin can fix it all.

I believe Asset Backed Digital Currencies (ABDC) like PAXG, XAUT, and other ABDCs can similarly solve the problems of fiat, but as a Soft Bitcoin Maxi, this book does a better job than some of the staples of explaining and defending the Bitcoin solution; i.e. The Bitcoin Standard, The Fiat Standard, Bitcoin Evangelism, Thank God for Bitcoin, etc.

Jimmy Song does a phenomenal job of turning complex economic concepts into succinct understandable language than anyone can understand. A top 5 book in my rating.

Exit the fiat matrix and modern day slavery

Jimmy does a phenomenon job of helping point out our all the ways fiat money corrupts our society. It’s a well thought out book and helps open the readers eyes to the modern day financial slavery the entire world lives in today. It is my responsibility now to go share this book with as many people as I possibly can.

Solid story, dreadful narration

The writer makes big claims, but he also backs up these claims with well-articulated arguments. I’ve read the author’s work since he first began this project as discrete, loosely connected articles in Bitcoin magazine. I think he makes a good case that many of the pernicious facets of society are made worse by fiat money. My sole complaint is the awful narrator. It must be an AI voice many of the names that are well known in the bitcoin and Austrian economic spaces are painfully mispronounced as are locations and such. There’s a phenomenal narrator in the Bitcoin space - Guy Swann - he really should have narrated this. Unfortunate way to cap off a solid writing effort.
