Publisher's summary

Isn't life more fun in the fast lane?

When bored housewife and mother Camilla Stewart impulsively invites her old school friends for dinner, she hardly imagines the evening will shatter her comfortable existence. But Roz Vallender and Loulou Marks are no ordinary guests. Roz is a stunning and self-assured TV presenter, while the reckless Loulou owns Vampires, the trendiest wine bar in town.

When they reveal that Camilla's husband, Jack, has been playing around, Camilla determines to make some changes. With a little help from her friends, she soon finds out that life in the fast lane is a lot more fun - and the future still holds plenty of surprises.

It's ok

I love Jill Mansell, but this book could have been about 10 chapters shorter. The end was not worth the build up.

Disappointing for a Jill Mansell book.

The storyline was interesting but I was ultimately disappointed in Jill Mansel's writing this time around. I usually enjoy her books as light reads or easy listens but kept rolling my eyes throughout this one. The major annoyance was the repeated mention of Camilla being overweight only to find out she was 150lbs. While probably technically overweight it's not a weight I'd assume worth the characters going on and on about. Next time stick to 'she lost a stone" etc.

Also, I knocked a few stars off for the narration. I've listened to many audiobooks with narrators voicing multiple characters well enough but this was awful. One word kept popping into mind...farcical.

Very Painful

I enjoy Jill Mansell’s writings, but I could not make it through 30 minutes of this book and returned it.

Torturous

This book is painful to get through. Not like Jill Mansell's other books. I kept wondering what the point was and hoping for something to improve. The story just kept dragging on with unlikable characters and one unfortunate event after another.
