A cute and sweet romance

It was so cute! There’s a bit of drama, of course, but good feelings and positive attitudes are dominant here. That make the villains look even worse than they really are.

The small town vibe was well written, especially the various relationships and the town meetings. I got the feel of those people’s love for their town and their work and I enjoyed it.

I’m not sure that’s how influencers work–I’ll have to trust the author has made her research–but I liked Alexis’s various vlogs and posts as they were described. There was some mise en abyme here, with the author writing about Alexis writing about the town and its inhabitants, and Alexis definitely inherited the author’s point of view. They obviously both loved his small town. Finn loves it too, but since he’s known it all his life, there was less awe in his way of seeing it.

The romance was cute, with Alexis and Finn building a trusting working relationship on top of their immediate attraction to each other, and slowly succombing to it. Though there was nothing graphic, it was still quite sexy.

I probably should have read it instead of listening to it though. Both narrators did nothing to me, and their reading sometimes even annoyed me. Still a cute and sweet romance with compelling characters.
