Classics, history, historical fiction, marketing, Napoleonic stuff and of course 'Boys own Adventure'. This is my bent. Occasional self help as well.
Perhaps I have improved my taste or gotten old, but I found these stories boring. Perhaps not my cup of tea. I tried to listen to them all, but after awhile, I fell asleep.
I wasn't bored with any of these stories like many of the reviewers were. In fact there were a few that now are still memorable, but only as images. Makes me think it's time for a second listen (my first was right after it was released) . I'm fairly new to the genre, and don't know what others may be looking for in the book -- I found this no more titillating than some SF short story collections. It is, rather, a series of sexually charged intimate short stories. They go off each in their own, sometimes odd, directions. None the direction my fantasies lead, but then, they did stimulate the imagination.
I don't know how these stories are so dull. Maybe because they are read with all the enthusiasm you'd expect from someone deciphering a list of cereal additives.
Seriously, I am disappointed. I started out thinking I couldn't hang with the male narrator describing a money shot, so I skipped ahead. I laughed my ass off when i got to the story about sniffing shoes at Macy's, because it began to dawn on me that I had really wasted my money. For me, there's nothing erotic here. I knew I didn't care for Suzie Bright going in, and even though I don't have to listen to her read every story, it -still- sucks. Please don't waste your money on this. I wanted a refund after just 5 minutes.
it was terrible i thought it would be like alison's wonderland only to find out that i really did not like this book.
no but made me cautius b4 buying one with a simliar title
one story in the book was good but it was not worth saving the book
There are a lot of short stories in this book, most were not very erotic, for my interests. Personal preference will probably vary wildly on this subject matter.
The short story plots are disgusting
I'm actually thinking about cancelling my account I'm so grossed out. I downloaded the above mentioned books based on Audible reviews but was completely misled
Terrible. Sounds like an old smoker lady
Disgust! Raped by an ape?! Come on.....
Please do not download this compilation.
"Something for everyone"
This is a pretty sexy anthology with all types of stories. Certainly very good value for money, presuming you use an Audible Credit given that it is the best part of 16 hours long. There were only 3 of the stories that I didn't really like, but as they say it takes all tastes. But if you want a good erotic collection of stories that cover most if not all "activities" this is worth getting.
"Great performances. Great stories."
Overall, I'm very happy with this audiobook.
The performances are excellent, and the voices were easy on the ears, carried a lot of different emotions and nuances, did not seem to jar with the text, well paced, warm and intriguing.
The format of the audiobook was two very long tracks. This is fine for listening to the whole book in order, which I did first. However, I would have appreciated the capacity to skip about the stories, since it is a short story anthology, and in an anthology, I like to be able to open up the book and pick a story or two to read; not to feel I have to read/overload on the whole book (though sometimes that's nice too). This kind of reading experience is not really mimicked on the audiobook as far as I can work out - I had to lean on fast forward rather a lot to find my place, and keep a list of the short stories in the anthology. (I found the contents page on another website).
The individual stories were all really good. They were a very varied, high quality, imaginative, well written, erotic collection. There didn't seem to be a bad story in the bunch. Each story seemed to have some unusual feature whether it was the atmosphere, or the setting, or the characters involved (human, transformed or mythical), or the "action", or the plot itself. The stories were highly enjoyable, even when they were not my usual fare; I had only two (very brief) "ick" moments, which briefly disrupted my suspension of disbelief. The writing and performances drew me in and kept me listening - and it was full of pleasant surprises and erotic moments. I also laughed with surprise/delight at some of the more startling transformations (the bird, for example).
I look forward to future listens.
I don't know if there will be any further volumes of this kind, but I'd look forward to them. Similarly if any more specific anthologies were published.
"Well written but not erotic"
Most of the stories were quite literary and well written...but not in the least sexy or erotic! Just nothing at all arousing, teasing or stimulating. Avoid!
The "grand dame" of erotica has become boring. The stories are so-so but hardly exciting or interesting; just fictional sex.
