Police officer Gabriel Carter refuses to walk away from an assignment without seeing it through. So when he goes into deep cover as a male prostitute named Ty, he intends to do everything in his power to see his case to an arrest. He seduces his mark, Demetrius Prado, the second most powerful man in Las Vegas and a human trafficker, but the man is nothing like he expected. The more Gabriel learns about Demetrius, the more twists and turns are thrown his way in the convoluted case leading to Demetrius’s rival, Arden, and beyond. It’s a case of mistaken identities and layer after layer of trumped-up cover stories, and Gabriel is sure there’s no way he’ll ever be able to trust Demetrius with his life… much less with his heart.

I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Great story. I love the action and the smexing was just hot. I even liked all the grunting. I usually don't like the grunting... but it worked with this book. I totally like the underworld life of Vegas king pin!
Narration was great. I like when a narrator reads the characters not the books...
while I really enjoyed this story, the narrator really tried my patience. I was cringing, chuckling and cringing again during his sex scenes and those ridiculous sounding moans.
If you can read the book as it is really good. I don't think I ever got used to his young voice and wanna-be porn moans. It was distracting to be honest.
Mostly using audiobooks when my concentration is so bad that I can't read text. Or sometimes when I feel the need to practise my [listening] english even more. I'm not very picky when it comes to stories, so can listen to practically anything – and have a knack to find SOMETHING in each story that I like. *smile*
The story was quite fun, seeing the twist and turns play out (even though I had a pretty good guess quite early on where things were going). The characters were mostly enjoyable. Arden made a pretty good bad guy, Lee/Timothy was a nice and stable side character to have other characters bounce of off, Demetrius/Ewan was amusingly straight-laced for being such a twisty guy and then of course there was Ty/Gabriel that was angsty and twisted up most of the story. Poor confused guy but he certainly had a lot of amusing moments. Jackson was also pretty much impossible not to like.
There were parts of the book I didn't like too much but that's pretty much to be expected from a plot involving human trafficking. So in a way that's good critique since the reader/listener is supposed to feel bad about those kind of things. I'm also a bit sensitive to angst *small smile* especially with characters that can be slightly dense about theirs or others feelings *chuckle*
I'm sorry to say that the worst thing about this book (in my personal opinion) is the narrator. I wanted to give him 2,5 stars but that wasn't really an option *slight shrug*
He was incredibly monotone when he wasn't reading conversations – thankfully he at least was lively during those although sometimes it was difficult to understand which character that said what.
It also surprised me when he actually narrated laughs, sighs and moans – I haven't heard a narrator do that before. *smile*
His reading got more okay over time though, it took a while but I got used to it, especially when I was listening for longer times without breaks.
I'm also very easy when it comes to narrators since I have too much imagination and can pretty much "correct" whatever I feel is wrong with a performance inside my head.
If you want a story with lots of undercover fun, this book is for you. If you're one of those were the narrator completely make or break an audiobooks and feel you have a problem with the things I mentioned above I think you can be a bit cautious with this book.
I think audible should review what their putting out for their customer, this book was so bad i could not get all the way though the narrator was just so bad i had to wander what audible was thinking to put this crap out therer for people to buy . I want my credit back . if anyone want to get this book the little soundbite dose not give you the full extent of just how bad this is. the book it slef is good i have the ebook so i though the audio would be also now i'm stuck with crap and i'm out a credit.
