Stefan Joss just can't win. Not only does he have to go to Texas in the middle of summer to be the man of honor in his best friend Charlotte's wedding, but he's expected to negotiate a million-dollar business deal at the same time. Worst of all, he’s thrown for a loop when he arrives to see the one man Charlotte promised wouldn’t be there: her brother, Rand Holloway. Stefan and Rand have been mortal enemies since the day they met, so Stefan is shocked when a temporary cease-fire sees the usual hostility replaced by instant chemistry.
Though leery of the unexpected feelings, Stefan is swayed by a sincere revelation from Rand, and he decides to give Rand a chance. But their budding romance is threatened when Stefan’s business deal goes wrong: the owner of the last ranch he needs to secure for the company is murdered. Stefan’s in for the surprise of his life as he finds himself in danger as well.

I loved this story. Even with the "muppet" voice for some of the side characters, this book was funny and tender. I loved both the main characters. I have another audio by Mary Calmes and cant wait to hear more from her.
wonderful stories, Mary Calmes says she knows what her characters smell like and it certainly works for me. I fell in love with all 3 books, listen to them over and over, I hope audilbe brings in some more of her work, there is quite a lot of it out there. The narrator is wonderful too. If your looking for a great love story, with people to fall in love with, friends and family you wish were yours, Mary Calmes is your girl. Her stories are definitely the feel good variety. The Guardian and Change of Heart have a sci fi twist but are still wonderful, Timing was my 1st listen and I was hooked in the 1st few minutes.
Mary Calmes is one of the few authors that make you look up and say "thank you"!

YES!! I STILL AM!! i love the story it has the perfect amount of comedy besides everything going on.
BOTH! i loved how everything came together!
he brings not only the characters to life but the whole story!!!
they are all memorable
this book has a sequal but it is sadly not on audible. it is really good i recommend it if you want to know what happens, i don't want to spoile it. just take my word for it!! worth it!!
Stephan and Rand are so good together! Sean Crisden is brilliant with his narration. I can listen to this book over and over again! A great listen!!!
I just had to listen to this one again before starting after the sunset the second book in the series and I just love these characters even though I've bought his are your book twice once on iTunes and again later on audible from my phone I just had to take it with me the story so when I am wanted a fighting raucous heartfelt story it Keeping Promise Rock by Amy Lane and the first two books from the Cut and Run series are amongst my favorite and the ones that I just had to have on my audible account this story Timing is truly one of my favorites and I highly recommended if you like any of these stories I have mentioned you'll just love "Timing" by Mary Calmes.
Oh and I kind of forgot one of my favorite parts about this story was fell fill the caf and the ongoing, your cow? You don't have a cow. It's towards the end of the story, it made me laugh so hard the first time and no matter how many times I listen to the story I always laugh and laugh at that scene and throughout the entire book laugh cry smile it's always left me feeling so good everytime I listen to this story and hear about Stefan Joss and Rand Holloway. Thank you Mary Calmes for your stories and Sean Crisden for your performances and thanks to the production team for if it weren't for you and people like you making audio books like this one I wouldn't get to enjoy these stories, thank you all.
The way the narrator did the character voices. I mean, Stef was okay but ye gads Rand just sounded goofy so I couldn't take him seriously and some of the characters just sounded ridiculous. Namely Ben. He sounded like Grover. And the women... *shudder*
The whole enemies to lovers thing was the most interesting thing about it. The least interesting aspect was the 'secret' Charlotte was keeping.
The voices were grating. He read the narrative passages okay, but the voices he used for some of the characters was just unpleasant. If I'd met people who sounded like that in real life, I'd either walk away or slap them.
I don't know. Live on a ranch maybe?
Get rid of the 'Gay Romance' text in the title. I doesn't need to be there.
Haven't read the print version
The interplay between Stefan and Charlotte really works to boost the main story going on between Stefan and Rand.
This one is great. Really like the narrator and his quirky sarcasm. I enjoyed the way he balances the characters with one another.
Yes..... and did!
This is the first book of Mary Calmes that I ever read, and it made me go look for the rest!!
I absolutely loved the main character and the romance between him and his love interest. This is my first audio gay romance novel and I was not disappointed.
A non supernatural non het of the Sookie Stackhouse series, perhaps.
Great voices. He was an absolute treat to listen to. Though, I have to wonder if reading the sex scenes made him giggle.
This audio book inspired me to buy it in paperback and the sequel. I am so hoping that they record the sequel for audible
"I love this story!!"
One of my all time favourite M/M books.I would recommend to someone reading a M/M romance for the first time
Mary Calmes at her best
"Love the story, but the narrator..."
Okay, so this is a great, fun, lighthearted story. Nothing too deep, this is not trying to be Great Literature, just something to lighten your day. And it succeeds. I love Mary Calmes, she is on my auto-buy list despite the fact that I definitely do not love all of her books. Still, she makes me smile and sometimes even laugh with her books, which is worth the price.
Sean Crisden does a fair job narrating, BUT, and this is repeated in every book he narrates, he seems incapable of having women sound as anything other than the most annoying, empty headed bimbos! I'm sorry, I know we do tend to talk a lot and I am sure some men do perceive us as annoying, but come on! The book is written by a woman, the lines the women have in this book are funny and meant to be pleasing to the main character, so why oh why do they sound as if they have fog-horns stuck up their noses???
It is a small part of the book, the rest was actually really good, but it annoyed me enough to only give two stars on performance. Which is a shame, because the book deserves better.
