Hello,80s Sex-Max flashback!

I'm giving this book 3 stars… I guess for mostly nostalgia purposes. It is not the worst I have listened to so far. Nor is it the best. However, it does have a nostalgic quality for anyone who grew up watching Cinemax or USA up all night. I swear it the whole time that I was listening to this I kept thinking this sounds like it should of been on sex-Max. It has that 80s style romanticized B-movie horror angst ridden vampire lover thing. The way they used to be before twilight. It puts me in mind of movies like "To Die For." And "To Die for II Son of Darkness" I personally would not deem this one as a hot and steamy explicit sex book which is quite surprising considering Harlequin and blazer whatever. I found it to be a little slow for the length of the book itself, but there was just something about it that kept me listening and waiting. I come to realize it was probably the style of the vamp that was taking me back to late nights of USA up all night and Cinemax which anyone 40 or over should know what I mean :-) if you're looking for a short trip down memory lane. This is your book but do not expect, however, do not expect LeStat or Louis. This is definitely more Vlad and Radu or possibly Vlad meets David again. Anyone familiar with 80s vampire movies will know what I mean and I think that is what kept me listening to this particular book. Just out of sheer morbid fascination and fond memories. So if you're looking for a quick read. This is definitely tolerable. However, I doubt it will appeal to anybody looking for an Edward or Wrath. There is not much world building in this either course because it's a one-off mainly, but another thing that makes it nostalgic is they tend to embrace every known vampire weakness out there. This falls back on the original B-movie vampire myths LOL like I said, I personally think this had the great makings if they were still making 80 style vampire horror movies. This would've probably been one of them. It's been a long time since I've read any vampire books it embodied all the old myths and one story. It brought me back to watching all the old movies growing up. I wouldn't want to use a credit on it, but as part of the romance package. I'd say it's worth reading once if not for anything else but old time sake.

Very disappointing

This is not my favorite book by Crystal Green. Let's just say, she has done better. I thought it would be more dramatic with more exciting sensual scenes. Maybe it was the narration but I was very disappointed.

Still worth the read/listen

Great storyline albeit predictable. Not what I would call erotica but still worth the read/listen.

Very Mediocre.

Well, it wasn't the WORST vampire novel I've ever read, but...

Think: Buffy the Vampire Slayer depth meets Anne Rice earnestness.
Unfortunately, it was not well written enough to pull off the drama, and not funny enough to excuse the shallow plot.

I definitely struggled with the very stereotypical self-loathing vampire and the "Oh! What am I doing, and why am I doing it?" heroine.

I also found it odd that not a single intimate encounter was in an appropriate location. I am all for adventure, but find some privacy or at least somewhere comfortable for goodness sakes!

The pace was ok and a few parts were entertaining. All-in-all, I wouldn't recommend it, but wouldn't quite call it a painful listen either.

Very Sexy

This is a "sexy" story with love and lust all around.

SURE THING FOR VAMPIRE ROMANTIC FANS

She gets bitten and loved-up - longs for more so joins a vampire hunter group - 1 year later she finds her vampire again and the whole thing happens again and again. He falls in love with her and visa versa - there's a twist to the plot then nearly all live happily ever after (come on I didn't spoil the ending - it's a Blaze book!).

Am I sorry I used a credit on this book? - no but there are better vampire books out there and I'd probably wait for the half price Audible Sale and purchase it for cash then.

Great Narrator

Gabra Zackman is the best narrator for romance novels. Typical paranormal romance novel made better by the narrator. Great beach reading.

Eh... If your a romantic....

I was hoping for something, a little bit more kinky than what this book is. It starts out good, but than it gets sort of mushy lovey-dovey near the end. It wasn't the kind of erotica I like to read. However, if you like romantic books, you'll probably like it.

I really enjoyed this book very much. The characters were very interesting and intriguing. The narrator was very good. She told the story with great passion.
