Publisher's summary

Tesla Martin is drifting pleasantly through life, slinging lattes at Morningstar Mocha, enjoying the ebb and flow of caffeine-starved customers, devoted to her cadre of regulars. But none of the bottomless-cup crowd compares with Meredith, a charismatic force of nature who can coax intimate tales from even the shyest of Morningstar’s clientele.

Caught in Meredith’s sensual, irresistible orbit, inexpressibly flattered by the siren’s attention, Tesla shares long-buried chapters of her life, holding nothing back. Nothing Meredith proposes seems impossible - not even Tesla sleeping with Meredith’s husband, Charlie, while she looks on. After all, it’s all in fun, isn’t it?

In a heartbeat, vulnerable Tesla is swept into a spectacular love triangle. Together, gentle, grounded Charlie and sparkling, maddening Meredith are everything Tesla has ever needed, wanted or dreamed of, even if no one else on earth understands. They’re three against the world.

But soon one of the vertices begins pulling away until only two points remain - and the space between them gapes with confusion, with grief and with possibility.

Never a Disappointment

Sexual. Erotic. Deep. And the narration was on point. What more can I say? Buy it!

I need more!

I am a big Megan Hart fan, and this series is by far, one of my favorites of all time. I love how every book revisits with at least one character from a previous book, and ties all of the stories together. This one is no different. We get to see Johnny D and Em again (and find out that they have had their baby), as well as Joe and Sadie (and imho, an unwelcome reentry of one of Joe's former story subjects), all 4 of which have been some of my favorite characters from the past.

Aside from the blasts from the past, we become more familiar with the Morningstar Mocha coffee shop itself, from behind the scenes. The way that Tesla and Meredith get together is a big tease, i think. But when everything comes out, its not what I was expecting to happen. However, the way that the story unfolds is pretty predictable.

At first, I was pretty fond of Meredith, and somewhat distrustful towards Charlie, but that definitely changed about midway through the story. However, it was inevitable, seeing as how situations like this always flip around. Sometimes people want something so bad, that their selfishness blows up in their own face, as it did with Meredith.

I wish there was more details on the history between Tesla and Vic, because it just feels like there is more to it all, other than what they say. His reasoning between why he didn't want his wife to know about his previous career, and why he seemed so ashamed of it, even though he wanted to get back into it. I would also like to know more about Tesla's brother, Captain. He needs his own book, I think.

Love scenes are pretty hot. as usual, without going overboard. I do wish that more had happened at the sex club though. There was so much potential for things that could have happened, but didn't. I was kind of bored through that part, and had to rewind a couple if times to get through it.

All in all, another great story. Two thumbs up, five stars and all that jazz. Keep it rocking Megan!

Surprisingly Hot and Real

This is not my usual fair in subjects. However, I found this thoroughly entertaining and ending pleasing. Megan has a writing style I can relate to. Well Done!

a poor excuse for writing

What would have made The Space Between Us better?

That is was extreme porn page after page, poor character development, just raw sex, nothing really sensual or beautiful. what a waste. I actually chose it by accident as my book group was reading a book by the same title about an Indian woman in a lower caste whose husband was abuse, a book I am glad I missed.

What do you think your next listen will be?

something about the CIA or Code Talker

What didn’t you like about Alexandra Wilde’s performance?

average

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

irritation and disgust.

Didn't really enjoy this one!

Usually I have enjoyed Megan Hart books but this one just didn't keep me very interested. Charlie wasn't much of a manly man -- he just went along to keep the peace for much of the book. I'm glad we lost Meredith by the end. She was a little to on again/off again for me.

Usually I am very emotional attached to her characters but I didn't get that with this book. But I'll keep listening to Megan's work.

This was a little odd for me

Has The Space Between Us turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I have loved all of Megan Harts books I have in my library thus far. This one was a little odd to me. There is a woman that works at a coffee shop and a woman that basically lives in the coffee shop. She takes her home to make her apart of her marriage and then she almost disappears.

"Harlequin" should have been my clue!

What disappointed you about The Space Between Us?

Bought this, thinking I was downloading my book club title (also called Space Between Us but by different author). I was in a hurry and neglected to double-check the author. When I heard the narrator say it was a "Harlequin," I remember thinking it was odd choice for my book club, -- soon realized that the author's attempt at character development and plot just serve to string together a series of explicit sex anecdotes.

Has The Space Between Us turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes. Apparently "Morningstar" = porn.

Have you listened to any of Alexandra Wilde’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I did give her 5 stars as the narration was good.
