Publisher's summary

Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side, Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful, and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy - only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York's A-list that'll change the scene forever. The club becomes Kingsley's obsession - and he's enlisted some tough-as-nails help. His new assistant, Sam, is smart, secretive, and totally immune to seduction (by men, at least). Still, their combined expertise in domination can't subdue the man who would kill their dream. The enigmatic Reverend Fuller won't rest until King's dream is destroyed. It's one man's sacred mission against another's.

Contains mature themes.

Oh Kingsley

I knew I liked Kingsley for a reason. This book was awesome and so insightful. It really makes you understand Kingsley and Soren so, so, much more. I love how Kingsley and Nora are so similar yet they don’t even really know it. But Soren does.

This is also where Sam comes in and we learn a lot about her and I love this.

The narration I am starting to enjoy it. I like the FRENCH and the accent sooooo much. Oh, Kingsley.

Love love love Kingsley and Soren

This book is tells the story of Kingsley and Soren - fills up all the missing bits and it is just adorable. Kingsley’s love for Soren is so pure and true. Sörens Love for Kingsley is just as true and deep even though we don’t ever truly get Soren’s side of the story. My only compliant with this series is that I still HATE grace’s involvement in it. But even good authors make some awful mistakes I suppose. This series is a little ruined for me every time I think about grace with Soren’s child.

Great story, horrid narration.

Reisz has a gift for all things related to storytelling. Elizabeth Hart does not possess the skill needed too bring the author's creation to life. Her accents don't sound at all authentic, and her overall performance was stilted. I recommend people pick this up in print.

LOVE Tiffany Reisz!

Would you listen to The King again? Why?

YES - it covered a lot of ground & made Kingsley more "approachable"......he wasn't my favorite character until now!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kingsley, by far! I appreciate the internal conflict he has throughout the book & how he expresses himself.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

I think I like Lilly Rhodes' narration in The Angel better.......but Ms Hart did just fine.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Naughty Emperor's New Clothes - your grade school story is all grown up!

Any additional comments?

Tiff - please keep up the series, or start another one. I love your writing style and conversation antics! Thanks so much for the entertainment (and education!! wink wink!!)

Best romance series EVER

This is my favorite romance series of all time and the white years series is critical to understanding the first 4 books. Have read the complete series many times but first time listening to the audiobook. Thoroughly enjoyed these stories one more time.

AAAAAAAmazing!

This series is PHENOMENAL! So many layers and depth to explore. I have literally listened to this book at least 10 times and find new facets each time. I LOVE this world that Tiffany Reisz has created - and you will too!

Books 5-8 of this series narrated by Elizabeth Heart are outstanding on Audible. This was actually my first book I listened to by this author and the story is so dynamic it drew me in. I have devoured EVERYTHING she has written since.

This book is a deep dive into Kingsley “King” and layers past and present with seamless flow from the plot lines from books 1-4.

Believe me - this book is phenomenal and so is the author. Add this to your library and be ready to be swept up into another world. This author’s mind is amazing - Enjoy!

Fabulous Erotic Book

This story is Kingsley's kinky coming-of-age story. Yes, he's a 28 year adult who is stinky rich, kinky and has everything and everyone under his thumb but he is lost drowning himself in booze, sex and every possible narcotic he can get his hands on... which simply means EVERYTHING. This story is of King finding his purpose, building new friendships and his path to establish the biggest & baddest S & M kink club, The 8th Circle (pssst we even find out why it's named that... and IT. IS. GLORIOUS!!!) as his ever eternal worship to Søren.

There are so many new characters and important friendship and dynamics that are introduced.
King & Blaise - his one true submissive who is not hung up on King and not a FT submissive. She has a mind of her own that she uses to rally causes of feminism. Love her and her fashion sense.

Sam & Kingsley - Sam... WOW... she needs her own book ASAP... she and Kingsley what made me fall in love with his book. Sam is a lesbian bartender turned Kingsley secretary, while wearing awesome suits who develops a very close friendship with King. Her story is sad but nonetheless she is a strong woman and the ONLY woman who is not pulled into King's sexual orbit... sort of. OK she has enough strength to build resistance to that pull. She is a perfect woman as she becomes King's equal, she becomes his softer side where she pushes him to become better and in a way mold him into King we have met in the Red Years Series.

King & Søren - although he is present in the story and truly becomes the driving force by putting Kingsley on the clean path. Let's be honest there is no King without Søren. When the story picks up both of them have not seen each other since the horrible events that happen at the school and the death of King's sister. Søren comes back to King at the right time as he is at his peak of destruction and through his return he gives new hope to him, he gives him his family back and the promise of something more... the dream come true of their childhood musings of the IT girl who has yet to grow up. Our Nora is not present in this story but she makes herself known as she is the one who brings them together, unknowingly, but as fate would have it.

“He’s a bastard, that blond monster.”
“You know you love him.”
“Entirely against my will,” Kingsley said, “and with all my heart.”

The story is fabulous and Tiffany is fantastic in her story telling. I only give books 5 stars if the book is that good I will listen again. This is one pf those rare books

Elizabeth Hart did a phenomenal job narrating this book. The biggest challenge with this story, I would imagine, is the fact that there are so many accents and even a few languages. I truly feel that the narration added so much. Each character felt like individuals and not just some chick imitating a French dude or the ominous Søren. I will definitely be seeking out more books narrated by Hart in the future.
