"The Keeper is beautifully written. You will fall in love not only with these characters but with this tale itself." (Danielle, Coffee Time Romance)
"The Keeper puts enough of a twist on the familiar vampire/mortal romance story to make it interesting without undermining the cozy trajectory of the trope." (Emily Veinglory, The Fleam)
I don't know if I am upset with the book or with Audible. If they had listed more about the book then I would not have WASTED my money. This book is about Judas and how he has to live off of the blood of the descended of Jesus' brother and how he develops a sexual relationship with the young man.
If I had even known PART of the plot I would not have purchased this, I have no problem with gay romance but throwing the religious parts into this it is just.....wrong.
Forget about the book itself right now, the recording quality of this book is terrible. Repeated sentences where he picked up recording, inserted words of a completely different audio, huge changes in background noise and recording levels throughout the recording. Plus, it cuts off in the middle of a sentence and starts again in the next chapter. Waste of money.
This books ranks among the top for me. It is well thought out, unusual in its storytelling. The character in the book may give others halt, but if you take it for the beautiful fiction that it is, you will enjoy it.
I have no other book to compare this to. The main character is strong and powerful but so very humble.
The return is my favorite.
If I mention the name, it will give away the story.
This is a boring story. No matter what strange wrapping the author uses it is still just boring. Perhaps intended to send the message that there is no conflict between same-sex love and religion, this book only cheapens a laudable goal.
I have spent a great deal of my life spreading the Good Word that God loves us and wants us tove each other. This tale, if it makes it into the hands of those who disagree.will only elicit, "See! This is where the slippery slope leads!"
"Unusual take on a Vampire story"
I am a big fan of the genre, but I have to be honest and say I really didnt enjoy this book. The first half was slow with too much introspection from both charactors -not enough dialog. It was made even harder to by slow speaking narrator,I struggled to keep listening.
The actual writing and concept was good- which is why I purchased the book.I just couldnt get into the story.
