Publisher's summary

Investigating a noise in the attic of her historic home, Maggie Holliday encounters a handsome man in a Civil War uniform. He calls her "Isabel", seduces her in ways the shy academic had never dreamed of, then literally vanishes.

With every fleeting visit, Maggie's mysterious lover, Ethan, takes her closer to the edge of ecstasy and madness. Is he really a ghost? Far from chilling her, his touch is incendiary; it all feels so real and so very, very good. And so very familiar.

Ethan insists Maggie's the reincarnation of his long-lost love. And after a few incredible nights in his arms, Maggie is inclined to believe him. But does she dare surrender to a passion that transcends time, tragedy, and even death?

I liked it

can I just say that if you like corny romance books you will like this one and sorry but sometimes that is just what the doctor ordered to put you in a romantic mood when life is going so fast and stressful that you need to have a read that will whisk you away and this was one of those times for me and I enjoyed this book yes its predictable but its also fun and interesting, I hope that you enjoy this read

Entertaining love story through time.

This was a sexy and enjoyable love story across time, albeit some parts were absolutely unbelievable and hard to swallow. I'm not talking about loving a ghost, I did not have a problem with that. What I found hard to accept was Maggie's abusive boyfriend and how long she put up with him. I also found her reaction to a stranger in the attic on a stormy night incredulous. Any sane woman would be screaming/running/fighting him off rather than kissing him. Hope Tarr has another audiobook called "Bound To Please" that I recommend first. Nevertheless, The Haunting was a good listen with some steamy love scenes.

surprisingly good

I was surprised to have enjoyed this book so much. The plot seemed so unbelievable, but I found myself actually thinking this could be PLAUSIBLE. It was both romantic and sometimes erotic. I was not disappointed.

Predictable, but cute...

The haunting is a sweet, somewhat predictable novel. If you are in the mood for a few hours of simple entertainment, then by all means, this is it...
If, however, you are expecting something...you may be disappointed.

Disappointing End to a Promising Beginning

Maggie Holiday buys a historic home in Fredicksburg and meets up with a hot ghost claiming that she is his lost love reincarnated. Maggie comes to believe the ghost, they fall in love, Maggie dumps an abusive boyfriend and helps Ethan, (the ghost), find the spirit of the man who played a role in his death. I loved the book through all of the above. It was the ending that stunk.

Good...but

This story was well written, and thank goodness it didn't go from one era to the other, (I hate those, it's hard to figure out where you are and who you are with), at first I thought that is what was going to happen, but it didn't last. The story was good, the sex was good, but the ending was very different. Not sorry I got it though.

WOW, this is one well written book.

This made an improbable situation very believable. To give hope of things being righted across time to work out in the end, or beginning as the case may be in this story.

First Ghost Romance Bittersweet

So I'm not really sure what I was expecting... This is my first and probably last ghost romance. I tend to like the Paranormal Romance novels with shifters etc, but I thought I would try this one. The story was charming I did like the narrator. I just wasn't prepared for the ending.... But I guess you can't have ghosts without death and death is final.

Not what I call a happy ending especially after hearing about her last days according from others. Terribly sad
