1980s erotica

Perhaps it is that we have become to sensationalized by the erotica of 50 shades of gray and other works by the likes of Zane or 21st century erotica, but this is my second time reading this novel and it falls short. Essentially it is a lot of weeping, sobbing, tears, and various forms of paddling. Yet there is no other type of of sex play or BDSM. The narrator is lackluster also.I do not expect a plot although one those come about in this trilogy… It is no longer a trilogy after 2015 since she does add to it… But the thing that and rice does well is imagery and create beautiful characters. However, her characters are one dimensional and flat. They are too beautiful and are not complex they are powerful they are brooding or in their thoughts but essentially these are stock card characters that come from any Harlequin romance novel. It does not matter if this is a Rodica or the vampire novels or, now that I think of it, her werewolf novels. So if you are just starting out with and rice that is fine you can fall in love but once you come back to her novels for the second or third time after a few years you then realize that you have matured past and rice.description

I expected more

I must say, from Anne Rice I expected more. In spite of the introduction, I did not find this book titillating in the least. More than anything else it made me hate slavery even more. But I guess everyone has their fetish. Unfortunately I am a collector so I will most likely finish the series even though I don't like it.

Not a fairy tale

Not sure I’m sold on this story line. Different for sure I picked this up because of recommendation. I don’t know how to feel about it, it definitely pulls emotions out of you.

The story is great and was well read.

I have read this book before and was happy to see that it was available on Audible. The narrator is very good and actually pleasing to listen to.

This is a version of Sleeping Beauty that you momma never told you about. Beauty wasn't awakened by a kiss, she was awakened by sex. And the Prince who awakened her, takes her as a sex slave! This book takes you on Beauty's journey on learning about what is expected of her from her Prince. But that is not all. Beauty makes a decision that changes everything for her. It is a cliffhanger!!! You will have to buy all three books to be completely satisfied.

Enticing

This novel was a delight to listen to, parts of it were a little slow but some twists emerged that were astounding, the ending leaves me with only the desire to finish the series. I must know of what happened to Beauty after
