Naked, bound and in chains, at the mercy of the man who purchased her - body and soul - for the next 30 days. Carly Abrams, at a financial dead-end, has gathered her courage, exaggerated her experience and signed on as a submissive sex slave at an exclusive BDSM auction house.
Adam Wise is gorgeous, filthy rich, sexually dominant and used to getting exactly what he wants. He has a fully-equipped dungeon and water bondage chamber in his home, all of it waiting for the woman who will submit to his darkest sadistic fantasies. With no interest in the emotional complications of romance, bidding on a highly trained sex slave strikes him as the perfect solution.
From the moment they sign the contract, Adam subjects Carly to sexual torture and BDSM scenes that push every boundary - physical, mental and emotional - leaving her at once terrified and longing for more. Neither counts on the emotional impact and deep sense of connection such a relationship entails, even if Carly is just a sub for hire. Each day takes the pair deeper into a dark and sensual journey.
In the struggle of wills and the tangling of hearts that ensues, both Adam and Carly must find the strength to face their secret fears and the courage to seize that most elusive and dangerous of dreams - love.

Couldn't even finish. Poorly written. The reader has a flat tone and sounds too femine for the male part. Don't waste your time or money.
Love all romance, dark romance, romantic comedy and suspenseful romance!
A girl with nowhere else to go, she auctions herself off as a BDSM slave. However, she just doesn't know what she has gotten herself into!
A man who has sworn off any kind of relationship due to a hurtful past, bids in this auction thinking there will not be feelings involved.
Neither of them prepared for what lies ahead!
Overall, this was a sweet story but lacked the emotion that could have made it great.
It didn't make any sense for the characters to make life altering decisions without any development of angst or internal struggle. It didn't make any sense for a full time submissive to act so out of character ( the secondary submissive in the story )and it never made sense that the lack of bdsm experience wasn't addressed. Actually the lack of experience was commented on several times briefly, each depicting frankly a different level of experience. This was just another sign of poor storyline construction. It was just a story idea that's been done a hundred times and in this case done poorly. The author has written other books that were truly exceptional, so I was really disappointed.
I tried to give the narrator the benefit of pronunciation generated from another dialect however by the end I concluded the narrator simply did not have sufficient personal vocabulary to be able to pronounce a lot of words correctly.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Great erotic story...but the angst... come on, just have smex already. I really liked this story, but I tend to like my doms to remain doms the entire time...ya' know. Not saying the the male hero of this story did a role reversal, but he became a little too sappy for me after he did not understand wha the heroine limits where. He didn't really hurt her, but scared her a bit... Then he kicks her out of the house, or returns her back to the auction house. WTF! Because he hurt her, he sends her back... WHAT!
It was a really good story though, but to reach that 4 or 5 star rating, l do not like to notice the little dumb plot moments... and unfortunately I did notice in this. Still worth the listen for all the great smexy scenes when he finally does smex her up...
Narration could have been better, but it was decent.
I have to admit I didn't have high hopes for this book. I just buy the cheaper books in between more mainstream books because my husband complains about how much I spend. This one was a pleasant suprise. I liked that it actually was a love story. My complaint would be that some of the bdsm was to violent for my taste. It's a subjective issue though. Overall I enjoyed the book and wished it was longer.
