If you could sum up Tears of Tess in three words, what would they be?

Dark, intense, and suspenseful

Who was your favorite character and why?

Q. I loved him. Yes he was dominating and at times borderline cruel but once you get a glimpse into his past you understand him a bit more.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to Jacob Morgan before and he is one of my favorites. I enjoyed his french accent (It might not be the best but it was better than what I imagined in my head when I read the book) and wish he would have carried on with it all the way through. The last couple of chapters I feel like he just gave up which is a shame because it really added to the story. This was my first time listening to the female narrator but I enjoyed her narration as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was! I would listen to the whole series back to back if I could. I will be impatiently waiting for the others to be on audio.

Any additional comments?

Just want to give a heads up that there are no Australian accents even though the main character Tess is Australian. I was a bit disappointed at first but once I come to terms with that I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook.

Great dark story

Really enjoyed this book. Definitely a dark book and has many uncomfortable moments but pepper winters is such an amazing writer she sucks you into the story from the beginning. The narrators were perfect! Recommend but know it has many dark subjects.

Jaw Dropping

This book is so many things. The best way to describe it is a disturbing erotic depiction of a twisted love story. Two confusingly strong characters who refused to back down from each other. Fair warning... It's dark and dirty and not for the faint at heart. There are situations that may be a trigger for some, but if you're not easily triggered, it's guaranteed to be an entertaining read. The story certainly kept my attention from the first page to the last.

That was the best and most intense book I have heard!!! So dark if you are not into that. But Jacob Morgan’s voice will definitely make you want to!!!

Would you listen to Tears of Tess again? Why?

The book was amazing but the audiobook was so much better. I really enjoyed all of the French parts. I would listen to this book again because it was that good. I would love to listen to the entire series.

What other book might you compare Tears of Tess to and why?

Maybe Lisa Renee Jones Inside Out series because of the French connection.

All loved the entire book but I really liked the French parts.

I broke it up into a couple of days. I had already read the book and knew how it ended. If I hadn't read the book already I would have listened to it in two days.

Brilliantly written and expertly narrated!

Tears for Tess was my first book by Pepper Winters, book 1 in the Monsters in the Dark. This story is tragically beautiful! You stomped on my heart and then put it back together again in a way I did not expect. I finished it at least six months ago, but it is still with me. Those books were one hell of a thrill ride! I binge listened and couldn't stop because I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, afraid to put it down... never bored, never complacent for one minute - right up to the ending that definitely had the potential to slay me! I was terrified and shocked and proven wrong in my assumptions, and redeemed in a most exquisite way! In spite of the heartbreaking and traumatic experiences it was a true story of love and redemption.

This book is very dark with difficult subject matter, but also beautiful!

Great Dark depraved book. Lots of twists and turns that you may not see coming. Can't wait to read her next book. Lots of triggers in book, human trafficking and dark twisted sex scenes. It proves that two dark souls can connect. for a HEA. That being said start reading today!!

Wow Wow Wow!!

Tears of Tess is book 1 in The Monsters in the Dark Series and my first Pepper Winters book. I’m now a huge Pepper fan. This book was just wow! Dark, Twisted, and emotionally gripping it’ll have you feeling every emotion.

Tess and Q are dynamite together! The circumstances of their relationship is dark but it’s deep.

The narration was absolutely amazing! Great depiction of their characters and the emotions they felt through this story.

Loved that it was dual narration too.
