Publisher's summary

There is nothing Connor Malone wants to do less than babysit the outrageous and out-of-control pop star Lyric Jones. But part of him relishes taming the celebratty songstress and showing her what it's like to be possessed - body and soul - by one man. And though Lyric's crazy antics nearly drive Connor to the edge, his quiet intensity penetrates her defenses, leaving them both vulnerable to the secrets that could topple Lyric from the stage.

"Strong on both plot and steaming-hot sex, there's also a delicious mix of humor and tenderness." ( Romantic Times)

do not waste your credit

What would have made Sweet Possession better?

this story does not follow the sweet series story line, just the characters are repeated.
All the sweet stories are closer to erotica than romance. This one is so ordinary, it is almost as if Ms Banks needed to meet a publishing dead line.

What could Maya Banks have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Follow her other outlines a bit closer

What didn’t you like about Caroline Wintour’s performance?

this is a bad reader, but if you like Ms Banks erotica, you have to put up w/Wintour's bad breathy voice. Awful

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

none, waste of listening hours. I kept thinking it would get better

Any additional comments?

all other sweet stories are good for erotica, but again you must be able to endure a bad reader voice. book4, 2, 6 are the better ones

Boring

What would have made Sweet Possession better?

A different reader and a better plot. I love Maya Banks but this was too Hallmark Channel for me.

What could Maya Banks have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This seemed more geared to teenagers except for the explicit sex.

Would you be willing to try another one of Caroline Wintour’s performances?

No.

What character would you cut from Sweet Possession?

I wasn't enchanted by any of them.

Any additional comments?

It was a pretty predictable.

So. Much. Talking. Hot this was Not.

This Sweet series offers variations of domination, but this one was so tame, when the single “dominating” scene happens (ch27), it feels completely off. And by then, I was comatose with all the talking... about loneliness ... and feelings ... and trust. Ugh. I. Couldn’t. Even. Worse book in the series.

The storyline also felt off. It starts with a sanctimonious lecture by Connor about how her current “security” weren’t legit since they were sleeping with her... and yet that is exactly what he, as her new security proceeds to do. And she’s in danger from a stalker who never does anything but leave notes and messages. Tame stalker to go with the tame romance, I guess.

The only good parts were when the ladies from the prior books got together with Lyric. But side character interludes do not a good romance make. Listen to the ladies hair dye incident and pool dye incident (ch 23 & 25) , and move on to the next book.
