Beautiful

Damon is an amazing character how knows exactly what he wants and what he's not willing to settle for. Serena gets caught up in her own professions of allowing people to live their dreams out in reality. As Damon leads her through what she believes is only her fantasy, she soon discovers its more than that. But Damon character provides what she needs patiently. The overall story is beautiful, it displays complete trust and vulnerably and both parties surrender.

This was one of my least favs in thie series I the story could have been stronger I still listened to it.

Loved the continued relationships/friendships!!! I will continue with the series. Also, loved the explanation of the difference of a slave/“master” relationship vs your standard dom/ sub relationship. It was interesting to say the least....

Would you ever listen to anything by Maya Banks again?

yes. This is the 1st book by MB that I have not enjoyed. I was actually more interested in the sub-story in this book. Can't wait to read it. (yes, I will buy the actual book and read it instead of listening)

How could the performance have been better?

I feel like the narrator tried too hard.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Sweet Persuasion?

The feeding of food to each other. GRAB A FORK AND FEED YOURSELF!!!

I was actually more interested in the secondary story in this book. Can't wait to read it. (yes, I will buy the actual book and read it instead of listening if the narrator is the same as this book.)

What???

Unfortunately this book just didn’t work for me. (Clearly I’m in the minority here) Whenever I listen to a Maya Banks book I always expect lots of hot and steamy sex. Which doesn’t bother me as long as it’s done right. However, this one just didn’t feel right to me. Even though this was Serena’s fantasy and she was a consenting adult, I just didn’t relate to the sexual slavery and complete submission. Really? Who does that?

There were just too many creepy scenes for me. For example, when two men (strangers) held her down while Damon used her….it just screamed rape to me which is NOT SEXY. I also didn’t care for all the “public” displays, whether in the sex club, limo or at Damon’s house where a punishment was given (yuck). Just not my thing.
I’m a bit disappointed since I really enjoyed book 1 of the sweet series.

Boring - didn’t feel any connection between Serena and Damon

The premise is hot, but the story was not. There was too much mushiness and not enough dialogue for a true connection. I would’ve liked the book if there was more to the relationship than her desire to be owned and his to own.

Hated the punishment in this book....

An interesting story that definitely makes you want to know more about Damon but the public punishment scene just ruined it for me. However if you can hang on the future books work real hard to humanize Damon and your opinion of him will soften.

Narrator

Stopped in chapter 2 because I couldn't stand the way the Narrator had the female lead talk. It's worse than nails on a chalkboard. I think I'll try to read the book because I like Maya Banks as an author.

All Sex- no Plot

What disappointed you about Sweet Persuasion?

The book lacked a story line. Chapter after chapter of explicit sex scenes gets boring after a while. Now that I think back, the other Maya Banks books I've read, they all seem to suffer from the same problem. I don't think I'll read any more of her books.
