What An Amazing Story

I absolutely love the sweet series by Maya Banks. I've read them all and now that I've found them in a audiobook I'm listening to them all. I love Damen and Serena's story and if you haven't read or listened to them yet I highly recommend that you add these to your library or wish list for future purchase.

This book is very sexually explict, which when it's done right, and in my opinion it was very right, is good. If strong sexual content bothers you then it's not for you. Otherwise, it's well worth a credit or the purchase price. I loved the first book in this series. Liked this one even better and I'm looking foward to book 3!!!!!!!

I liked...but total submission???

II really like how each Dom is completely different in these books. Maya Bank does a great job in creating her characters. However, that being said, Serena gave Damien total submission. WTF! No way on this planet! 24/7 submission is humanly impossible for an independent woman like Serena, but Banks creates a pretty good fantasy. The characters seem soooo believable too. Great Job... Great Smex... Worth the Credit. Not a buy, but a free credit.

Worse than the first

So after the first book I wasn't expecting much out of this one and I wasn't disappointed. out of the 6+ hours of the book, 4 of them were descriptive BDSM. These characters were even less believable than the first. I have been around the world three times already, and never have I met a guy like Damian or a woman like any described here. The man who wishes for his wife to be a sex slave is not normal, and the woman who wishes to be nothing more than a slave is even more rare. What is realistic is a woman who wants a strong, responsible, assertive man who knows what he wants and takes it; and a man wants a woman who is strong, self-reliant, yet tender and kind woman who loves and supports him and allows him to lead her. A master slave relation never works for more than a short time at best and almost always ends badly.

Not sure if I was going to like this

Even though I love every thing by Ms Banks, I was not going to read the series because of the bdsm and sharing with a "third" which I don't really get. I was drawn in by the reviews and I am glad I listened to this audio. This story was different in that there was love and respect between Damon/Serena even though I still don't get the bdsm. I also liked that Damon would not share Serena with another. Serena and her friends made me laugh throughout the book. Great Audio!!!

This was a good story. I liked Damon and Serena (for the most part) and their story was enjoyable overall.

Serena is the owner of a business where she makes people's dreams/fantasies come true (ones that are non-sexual in nature). With all her helping others get their fantasies fulfilled, Serena feels there's a lacking in her life. She's had dreams of being owned by a man and being submissive to him. She doesn't know how to go about it but she wants to experience that in real life, even if she's not prepared to make it a permanent lifestyle.

Damon is a businessman who owns a sex/BDSM club known as "The House". Damon is looking for the right woman, someone that will be submissive to him sexually and be owned by him on a permanent basis. He thought he had found the right woman for him years before but it didn't work out. Damon won't take second best so he's been patiently waiting for the right woman to show herself.

Serena is BFFs with Faith (the heroine from book #1, Sweet Surrender) and Julie and happens to mention to them that she's had dreams of being owned by a man. Faith and Julie are a bit surprised but once she realizes that Serena is serious, Faith agrees to help her out. Faith admits that she and Gray are in a Dom/Sub relationship and that she has a friend (Damon) that she thinks can help Serena out. Originally, Damon was supposed to be helping to find a man to fulfill the fantasy but as soon as Damon realizes it's for Serena, he decides that he's going to be the man.

Damon knows that Serena doesn't seriously see her fantasies as something that would extend long term but he's been waiting for his perfect woman for years and hasn't found her so a month long fantasy could be a nice reprieve from the loneliness. They start their arrangement and things go really well between them, the only downfall (for both of them) is the fact that it's not real and will end in a month. Damon soon realizes that he'd like Serena to be his permanently but Serena is too worried about the fact that she's a strong woman and she's convinced that being submissive makes you weak. She's so hung up on this that she is the main issue causing pain and drama between her and Damon. Thankfully, her BFFs decide enough is enough and interfere enough that Serena and Damon are able to work things out and end the story heading towards a HEA together.

This was an enjoyable story. Serena...well I liked her but she had issues and wasn't exactly smart about how she dealt with them. TBH, Serena turned into a hot mess towards the end and barely kept off my "annoying heroines shelf". Damon was a good hero and I liked him. The story mostly revolved around their relationship and it was good. There was a lot of buildup in this story for the possible relationship between Nathan and Julie so I'm looking forward to the next one so I can see how it all works out. :)

Good read not much of a story plot like previous

Like reading books that are a series however not much of a story in this one! Got through this one faster than the previous two. Hopefully next one more of a storyline!!!!

Too much dialog

Before I ordered this book, I couldn't remember why I stopped buying Maya's books. Now I remember, most of the dialog and details are unnecessary. The Author constantly feels the need to repeat character names incessantly, even when only two characters are talking she adds their names to the conversation to the point that is so annoying. The chatter between girlfriends is unnerving and go on for ever. It's a shame because the stories are good, but the way it's written doesn't allow for a natural flow. You are never given the chance to just loose your self in the story.
