After a near-fatal car crash leaves him scarred both physically and emotionally, Matt Harmon finds the solitude of his huge, lonely house too much to bear. Hiring nurse James Hayden to look after him seems like the best idea for Matt, whose fierce independence has been compromised by his injuries.
The two men clash from the start as James struggles to help Matt rebuild his shattered body and heal his crushed soul. The bond they form is forged in fire and ice, and the wounds they inflict on one another can only be erased by Matt's admission that he can't live without James's loving touch. Will Matt realize too late that James is the only one who can rescue him from himself?

No because I do not like Jim Bowie's voice and style.
Not unless I really want the story in audio. Bowie reads competently but I do not care for his voice. His lines just come across with a slightly strange accent.
Go out and read something!
I looooved this book. Yes I did. Thankyoumuch Scarlet!
Ok. Enter surly, disgruntled and bitter hot man who's stuck at home trying to recuperate. And then boom, enter sexy, open, comfortable, and kind man-nurse, who's trying to nurse Mr. Sexy Surly. I laughed out loud during so many scenes. Good Grief. The jerking off in the bathroom scene when trying to alleviate some of the pressure that pent up lust is bringing. Been there, done that. The best is when he discovers that he was CAUGHT. Hilarious... I mean, yes, it is slightly embarrassing, but hey... when you need to get off, you need to get off...
Or how about the movie scene when he falls asleep and droooools on him. I loved it. I was so entranced. I couldn't stop reading. I wanted to know where this whole relationship was going. And I was glad I did.
I love the idea that a person's good nature can rub off on even those most angry and bitter of persons. I really love the idea of being open to love and letting it change you... for the better. Sometimes we just don't know what we need or who will be the one to bring it, and boom... it's unexpected but exhilarating.
Personally, I think they rescued each other.
Happy Reading Y'all.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
This was soooo close to a 5 star for me....soooooo Close!!!! Story was five after James, the nurse leaves from taking care Matt, the patient. Want to talk about a tragic couple... Man! Matt keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper... and James just takes it... OMG! I was so emotional listening to this... then when Matt almost rape James WHAT!!! dang this was sooo good sooo real...
It was like Matt had fallen in love with James but he just wouldn't admit it to himself, but he would let anyone be with James... The best part hands down was the auction. OMG! I loved that auction scene sooo much...
This was awesome, emotional writing... The only thing keeping this from 5 stars all around was the narration could have been better and I totally had to skip like 3 chapter in total because I was getting to that bored state... and just wanted to get to good stuff. But the moment James walked out of Matt's door from beginning his nurse... OMG! No more skipping... Talk about a roller coaster... OMG... I almost forgot about the SAND-DUNES!!!! Sooo good.. then the deal to just become f-buddies...see... so emotional.. and James just takes it!
This is a buy! A must have for m/m romance readers/listeners.
First time reading Ms. Scarlet Blackwell and I liked the book and narrator too. About finding true love and allowing yourself to release your fear and accept it and return it freely
