Ok story - narration is no bueno

The narrators voice was not great - I liked the story fine but her “male voice was not only bad, but the same for every character - and the high pitched voice she used for Darcy was downright irritating

None of the voices fit the characters

A wanton isn't a wonton!!

I can only imagine that Sylvia Day must of cringed if she listened to the numerous amount of words that were mispronounced in this audio book!
The last straw for me was toward the end of the book when the word wanton was pronounced as wonton! This was a great story (love Jared and Darcy) and I've yet to read or listen to a book by Sylvia Day that I haven't loved but the mispronounced words and the accent of the narrator (that sounded to be possibly from New Jersey in a story that is set in the Northwestern United States) was a distraction and disappointment.

Pronunciation

I’m usually pretty forgiving with narration. I just could not get over pronouncing wanton like the Chinese restaurant wonton versus the correct pronunciation for a lascivious woman. It happened several times... along with a few other mis-pronounced words. Really distracting.

Like....with soy sauce?

The story was good, but the narrator ruined the listen for me. She mispronounces so many words it becomes destracting. The one that finally did me in was wanton...mispronounced as in referencing a chinese dumpling. I couldn't think of anything else except being as horny as potsticker after that and shut the bok off.

Chandra Should Prelim!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, with a note to ignore the mispronounced words.

What did you like best about this story?

Darcy and Jared's first time on the couch.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Chandra Skyye?

Jill Redfield or Madison Vaughn!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The couple's initial reaction to each other, that Sylvia made Darcy open and honest about her own feelings.

Any additional comments?

Chandra should do a couple preliminary run throughs before finalizing any book she narrates. The mispronounced words were absolutely too much to believe, didn't the project manager listen to it before publishing?

I wanted to like this audio book, BUT...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I couldn't get far. This narrator cannot have been Sylvia Day's choice. Ugh. She's horrible at a voices and worse? The male voices are done like they are morons who drone slowly, and this narrator mispronounces some VERY important words!! Basic English.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Day again?

Yes, but not by the narrator here.

How could the performance have been better?

Jill Redfield? Or, ANYONE but this narrator.. not knowing basic English words is a deal breaker for me.

Could you see On Fire being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No. The strange initial connection between the two main characters made zero sense.

Any additional comments?

Sylvia Day - listen to this narrator butcher your well chosen words... but you should drink wine first for the cringeworthy voice!! And, mispronunciations of a few of your words.

On Fire Review - Loved it!

Would you listen to On Fire again? Why?

Yes, loved the storyline, steaminess of book, loved the characters.

What other book might you compare On Fire to and why?

I picked it because I love Sylvia Day although this isn't like one of her typical books. I loved it!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Chandra Skyye?

She was good for the females voices, did not like her male voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Just the attraction between Darcy and Jared was so strong that you could really feel it, believe it.
