Publisher's summary

In Lustfully Ever After, classic fairy tales are reimagined for an adult audience with twists (and kinks) to keep readers entertained. In Michelle Augello-Page's romantically charged BDSM tale "Wolf Moon", Little Red Riding Hood is the big bad wolf, while Kristina Lloyd rewrites "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" as a scorching-hot MFM threesome in "The Shoes That Were Danced to Pieces". Shanna Germain's "Mirror Mirror" shows the sensual Sapphic side of Snow White's stepmother and Andrea Dale pens a contemporary version of "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" in the poignantly erotic "Steadfast".

This delightful collection of fairy tales will lead you down a magical path into forbidden romance and erotic love. You won't need those bread crumbs to find your way home - for home is where the heart is and the authors of Lustfully Ever After know your heart's most wicked and secret desires.

don't waste your money or credits

I bought this because I thought Sylvia Day was the author, but she only wrote the forward. That's okay, I thought. I'm open to new writers. But the narration was so bad, I couldn't keep listening. I always give narrators a chance to reel me in, but I just couldn't do it. Her phrasing was all over the place, which made it almost impossible to follow the story. Made me wonder if she had done any preparation or if anyone was in the booth listening during the session or if anyone listened after the session. These days, I expect more from a narrator than reading words from a page. I can do that myself, and in this case, much better. Don't waste your money or credits.

Choppy reading. Too many Pauses

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Stories had no basis, many started in the middle. Need some foundation even for short stories.Narration short and choppy. Reader kept stopping in the middle of sentences then would begin as if new sentence. Difficult listen.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kristina Wright (editor) and Sylvia Day (foreword) ? Why or why not?

Yes. Story lines held promise. Prior experience with writers would make me try again.

How could the performance have been better?

Better narration, smooth reading.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Occasional stories have good basis.

Read by a robot?

I couldn't get more than 2 stories in because the narration was absolutely awful. It sounded like a robo call was trying to read to me. No changes between characters, just dry, weird narration. Ruined it for me completely.

Don't bother

What disappointed you about Lustfully Ever After?

The narration is terrible - sounds like a robot and the stories are embarrassing, not erotic

Has Lustfully Ever After turned you off from other books in this genre?

Turned me off fantasy fiction in this genre for sure

What didn’t you like about Lil Tulip’s performance?

Sentences run together, awkward phrasing, no voice variance from character to character and no personality. I thought I was listening to an automatic voice you hear over the phone when calling your telecommunications provider.

Any additional comments?

Next time, hire a human being to be the narrator

Great Erotic Collection...Abysmal Narrator

What did you like about this audiobook?

In good conscience, I cannot.

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

Sexy, mature, provocative fairy tales, retold for an adult audience. There's lots to like here. Kristina Wright's an excellent editor who put together a collection worth checking out. Unfortunately, this audiobook doesn't do the material justice.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

The narrator tends towards the flat and emotionless, and when they do vary things up, it's erratic and often at inappropriate times. There's no emotional connection to the material, and no sense that they understand what they're reading. It might as well be done by a tect-to-speech generator. The performance is neither captivating nor sexy, and utterly inappropriate for the material. Pick up the print version, but do yourself a favor and avoid the audiobook as narrated by Lil Tulip.

Do you have any additional comments?

In the interests of full disclosure, I am a contributor to this anthology, and may thusly be considered to be a biased party. By all means, check out the many other reviews of this book and make your own judgement!
