What a SCORCHER!!!!!

Wow, this story will light your ears on fire it's so hot and erotic!!!! The storyline is super thin, so don't expect much by way of a plot or depth. But if you want smoldering crazy hot sex then this is definitely the book to get. I'll caution that if you're not into male/male scenes, just skip this one. I had conflicting thoughts on narration because although she has a very "soft/breathy" voice that works in erotica, there really wasn't any range in characterization so it was a little one note. Overall, I'd probably get another Opal Carew book, and now I know to be prepared for a sexual saturation!

3 Men and a Lucky Girl

Illicit is an entertaining story about Lindsay, who meets 3 hunky bi-sexual guys in an elevator, and ends up spending a weekend with them. The characters are well written and the guys are respectful toward Lindsay, no violence, no dominance.

While I'm not crazy about male on male sex, the men were funny & caring friends who honestly like women. An enjoyable, erotic romance with warm and humor.

Illicit...an extreme erotic fantasy with M/M/M/F

The book begins with Lindsay stumbling into an elevator and ends with her falling in love with one hot cop. Little does she know that her less than graceful entry into the elevator would lead to an invitation to experience a smoking hot weekend with three incredibly handsome men whose sole focus is her pleasure. Lindsay accepts the invitation because she believes it is a joke from her best friend and will simply be a relaxing girl’s weekend in a swanky penthouse. Erik, Connor, and Travis share an unconventional living arrangement in that they are in a relationship; all three of them together. Occasionally, they will invite a woman into their relationship but only for a weekend. However, the weekend with Lindsay leads to unexpected feelings. While the chemistry between the four of them is palpable, Lindsay and Erik share a deeper connection. Erik fears a relationship with Lindsay will change the dynamic between him, Connor and Travis. Illicit is a short steamy read so don't expect a deep connection or a sophisticated relationship to develop between the characters. Each of the main characters has issues that are touched on but not discussed in depth or resolved.

Sex and not much more

If you are looking for a book loaded with sex, then this is for you. There was very little plot to the book and after a while the sex just gets old and you want to skip ahead. I did not love this book. It was difficult to get the connection between the 4 characters. You definitely get the connection between Eric and Lindsay but then you are not sure about where Connor and Travis fit in. You can feel Connor and Travis' connection bet then Eric does not really fit in. The author tries to establish a storyline but it is just lacking in plot and details. The entire connection all happens so fast and you don't really understand why the guys invited her for the weekend after just one chance meeting and when it is explained it just does not fit into things. The entire possibility of seeing into a person's desires just did not work for me. (Hope this was not a spoiler) Save your credit. It would be ok as a filler book or something on sale.

Narrator was horrible

What would have made Illicit better?

Different narrator and storyline.

Has Illicit turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not quite, close.

How could the performance have been better?

More emotion in the voice. The narrator put me to sleep.

What character would you cut from Illicit?

x

Any additional comments?

Very disturbing narrator

What would have made Illicit better?

They should have used one of the original Narrators Clarissa Knightly or Mackenzie Hart. This Rebecca Estrella was mind numbingly, stage four brain cancer causing horrendous.

Would you ever listen to anything by Opal Carew again?

I would listen to her titles given that she uses a narrator I approve of.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The title speaks to this question. I will stress it once more, the narrator RUINED the book. If she talks like that during her personal life interactions, I feel bad for her associates.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Illicit?

Hmmm, can't really speak to that as I was turned of from the idea of finishing the book.

Any additional comments?

Please Opal Carew, hear my cry. Never ever, never ever use Rebecca Estrella as a narrator for any of your titles (books). She will promotes low sales.
