He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing but I do. I so do. I don't understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction....
In the best-selling style of Fifty Shades of Grey, Lisa Renee Jones delivers sexy thrills and heart-pounding sensuality with a tantalizing pause resistor in which the eyes of a high school English teacher are opened to a world she never knew existed, and she finds a passionate craving within that she never knew she possessed.
The journal comes to Sara McMillan by chance, when she inherits the key to an abandoned storage locker belonging to a woman named Rebecca. Sara can't resist peeking at the entries in the journal...and she finds a scintillating account of Rebecca' affair with an unnamed lover, a relationship drenched in ecstasy and wrapped in dark secrets.
Obsessed with discovering Rebecca' destiny after the entries come to an abrupt end, Sara does more than observe the players in the woman's life; she immerses herself in the high-stakes art gallery world Rebecca inhabited - and is magnetically drawn to two men. Which one seduced Rebecca with his masterful and commanding touch and brought her fantasies to exquisite life? On a daringly erotic escapade, Sara follows Rebecca's path to fulfill her own hidden longings. But after she tastes the forbidden pleasures Rebecca savored, will Sara be helpless to escape the same submissive fate?

Would you listen to If I Were You again? Why?
If there was a large gap between reading the novels I might. This is already my second time reading this story.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the tension between Sarah and Chris. They both are really into each other but they have so many walls up around themselves they struggle to get close.
What about Grace Grant’s performance did you like?
I really enjoy listening to Grace Grant. She has narrated the majority of the last few books I have listened to. I would definitely listen to her again.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book keeps you on edge, almost constantly. You have no clue what happened to Rebecca, you don't know if Sarah is in danger or just paranoid.
A better plot.
None of them. I didn't like any of them.
This book is the most boring thing I've ever listened to. It started off interesting, I was intrigued to find out what happened to the woman in the journals and see where the journey took Sara. After about the first or second chapter, things really tapered off. NOTHING was happening. I gave it a few more chapters before I stopped listening altogether. I don't care what happens to any of the characters, it's just not interesting at all. I really thought I'd enjoy this book, it had all the makings of a good one, but it really fell flat.
The narrator was fine, she did a decent enough job with what she had. She isn't the best narrator I've ever heard, but adequate. She has a nice tone and makes an attempt to distinguish character voices. I'd probably listen to something performed by her again.
Yes I would listen to it again.
Chris is so yummy!
She brings more emotions to the story.
I smiled a lot because she is a strong women and didn't put up with much crap.
I absolutely love these books!!!! Definitely worth the money or credit!!!!!!
It grabbed me from the beginning and held me all the way to the end.
Books books books
The narrator was pleasant to listen too. When I started the book I didn't think I'd like it, I found myself getting into to it after a while. It's not exactly an original story line but it gets the job done.
Give me a Hot Sexy Book, with a good story to listen to, have that "OH MY" sigh, Love most of what I have, but want more. Tell me it ALL!
Sara is so unexpected. To be honest, I really had to work to stay focused at the beginning. But once she knew what she wanted. She went for it.
Chris so far.. (Don't play his games Sara, and he can't beat you at them) WHOA!!!
Grace does a great job. Again she has a problem with male voices.I love the way Grace puts laughter, and feeling into her reading. She does a couple of the books I have read in the past. I am starting to love her.
At the beginning, it took a lot to stay with this book. I almost let it go. I had to keep going back to make it memorable. This is because normally as a rule, I read books that jump right into pure down right HOT reading. But it get's there. But there is a reason why.. So stick with it, it pays off, BIG TIME. Going to book 2 now..
OK listeners, here it goes.. This is worth a credit. and I hear the second book is even better.. well I cannot wait. I am in need to a good book that is Hot and keeps me up listening at night. LOL. But you have to listen to this!. Here is why.. You need to know why she (Sara) makes the decisions she does. Once this book get's into the facts, it becomes a great book. I am going to listen to again just to make sure I have all the facts from the beginning in place. Cause after a few chapters, you will need to know to keep up..And it moves fast.. I loved it.. Warning..Cliffhanger.
This one grabbed me. From the beginning I was emotionally involved in the mystery and suspense of the story. The interaction of the characters was riveting and steamy! ! Whew... Excellent narration. Loved the book so much I bought the second before I finished the first. Trust me, you will want to do the same, because this one is a cliffhanger.
Sylvia day's Cross Fire series and Fifty Shade
Awesome as always!
All of them!
Audible you need to have all of her books, not just 2...... PLEASE!!
This is half of a great book. The characters are wonderful, and the storyline is so interesting but the ending ....or lack of it, is so annoying.
I am very much into books that have many in the series, but to end on such a cliffhanger makes me think this is not a whole book but just half a book. Still I am sucked in and enjoying the story so much I am downloading number two as I am typing.
I am sure I will be annoyed again at the end of the next one and waiting for number three to be made. Oh well.
it's the best way to spend a working day, and i'm thankful my job is one where i can listen to books all day long.
i follow leesa here on audible and typically, without fail, i always love what she recommends to the rest of us. thankfully, her reviews aren't too wordy so i can get through it and know pretty quickly if she loved it or decided it wasn't a book for her.
i was not going to listen to this book. i saw it on e-reader and i dunno, it just didn't do it for me when i read the synopsis. so i passed on reading it, old-style.
then i saw leesa's review. sigh. she loved it. i knew i better get it because dang it, i knew i'd love it too.
.....and of course i did! it's filled with angst, drama, great sex scenes and there's this churning in the background of the book where you know there's stuff going on that you're going to find out. and not like. but you must know. because the skeletons must come out of their closets.
i loved it. all of it.
i moved on to book two immediately, and then after i was finished i went right back and am now on book one again...i loved it that much. also, i wanted to go back and listen to the little juicy bits i missed on the first go-round because i was so anxious to get through it! sigh. what? you know you do it too. :)
so definitely give this a try. grace grant does a SUPERB job---as always, and draws you right into the story... just like a great narrator should.
