Publisher's summary

He is rich and famous, and dark in ways I shouldn’t find intriguing but I do. I so do. I don't understand why his dark side appeals to me, but the attraction between us is rich with velvety promises of satisfaction....

In the best-selling style of Fifty Shades of Grey, Lisa Renee Jones delivers sexy thrills and heart-pounding sensuality with a tantalizing pause resistor in which the eyes of a high school English teacher are opened to a world she never knew existed, and she finds a passionate craving within that she never knew she possessed.

The journal comes to Sara McMillan by chance, when she inherits the key to an abandoned storage locker belonging to a woman named Rebecca. Sara can't resist peeking at the entries in the journal...and she finds a scintillating account of Rebecca' affair with an unnamed lover, a relationship drenched in ecstasy and wrapped in dark secrets.

Obsessed with discovering Rebecca' destiny after the entries come to an abrupt end, Sara does more than observe the players in the woman's life; she immerses herself in the high-stakes art gallery world Rebecca inhabited - and is magnetically drawn to two men. Which one seduced Rebecca with his masterful and commanding touch and brought her fantasies to exquisite life? On a daringly erotic escapade, Sara follows Rebecca's path to fulfill her own hidden longings. But after she tastes the forbidden pleasures Rebecca savored, will Sara be helpless to escape the same submissive fate?

Next in this thrilling new trilogy: look for Being Me and Revealing Us.

What an Ending

Looks like we'll have to wait until June, when Ms. Jones next book, Being Me is released. I'm just hoping it'll pick up from the storage unit where it left off.
This books story line flows comfortably, easy to follow and keeps your interest. It's one of those who dunits that keeps you wanting to know more.
Well worth the credit.

Excellent

Great book... but did leave us hanging. The sequel isn't due out for months. I had read this book in late 2011 but with the release of an audio version, I jumped at getting it as well. I enjoyed it as much as the read version.

Lots of story to clear up in the sequel.

OMG THE ENDING

Any additional comments?

So let me start out with that, I was not sure what I was getting when I picked this latest read from my TBR list. What a great discovery this was, Inside Out Trilogy has become of one of the most Erotic Mystery HOTTNESS reads for me. If I were you was a great start to this trilogy what started out as some personal erotic journals lost in a storage unit that Sara inherited, that eventually turns into to so much more. Started out I truly thought the main hero would be Mark Compton the Sexy art gallery owner and controlling boss man and I was inwardly hoping for it not to be because something just was not right about Sara and Mark’s connection. What I thought would be mixed love triangle truly wasn’t and oh was I so happy and head over heels for Chris Merit the hotty, dark, rich painter who in return is our Hero in this mystery read. I will not give too much away, but I will tell you this I was so happy that I had the second installment Being Me on hand because the cliffhanger in this one was truly torture. This was an Amazing read I was glad that I picked this for my next read.

I'M TOTALLY & HOPELESSLY HOOKED

I'm really lucky because I've discovered the Inside Out series when all the books are available which makes such a difference when you hear a doozy of a cliffhanger ending like this one ended on. And I'm so looking forward to jumping straight back into this story that has me gripped tightly in its clutches and it isn't going to let me go until the very end. But, before that, I'm sure there will be a lot more secrets to spill, the heat factor will rise even higher, answers will be found but more questions will torment me, the romance will be epic and there will eventually be a HEA at the end of it.

Sara is obsessed with some very sexy Journals that have come into her possession and, despite similar demons in her past, she finds the contents haunting.... and arousing. Slowly she pieces together clues about the life of their Author - a woman called Rebecca but she's mysteriously gone missing which leads Sara to her fate/destiny where two completely different men are waiting to tempt her into their lifestyles. Both are gorgeous, sexy, charismatic and have a dark and dominant side and, while she temporarily takes Rebcca's job to find answers, one becomes her lover whilst the other becomes her boss. However, both are keeping a lot from her and, as she is drawn deeper, Sara's suspicions rise and everything points to one of them...... but will she be right or is she making a huge mistake by trusting in the wrong man. Well I don't have the answers but just maybe by this time tomorrow I'll be closer to knowing the truth..... or even more confused!

Told from Sara's POV as she struggles with her feelings, her insecurities, her hopes, her suspicions and her confused blossoming sexual appetite as the plot turns, twists and slowly unravels. Good narration too.

Worth a Credit? Thanks to all the positive comments by my fellow Reviewers I downloaded all the books in one go for a marathon of a listen. The Heroes are edgy, have a dark side and are emotionally complicated and the Heroine is smart and likeable but her curiosity is leading her into the unknown. The romance is hot and heavy. There are a few secondary characters floating in and out and there's a very very addictive storyline that drops in mysteries, revelations, twists and questions like breadcrumbs leading to discovering the answers but, with no clues, I was constantly on edge as the tension between the three main characters climbed and the plot became darker. I'm smiling with delight because this will (hopefully) be a gapless smooth listen as I deliriously jump from book to book.... and, IMO, YES it's definitely, unquestionably, positively and absolutely creditworthy.

Ruined potential for good mystery

I was immediately intrigued by the storyline; Sara finds Rebecca's personal journals in an abandoned storage unit, and wonders what happened to her. Sara, a teacher with an art degree, goes to the art gallery where Rebecca worked, gets hired for the summer, and gets involved with Chris, an temperamental artist. Then the story becomes all about Chris, his emotional baggage, and her various problems (traumatic childhood, low self-esteem, no self respect). Once again, no one ever deals with abuse and neglect by counseling & therapy. No, Rebecca need others to validate her worth and Chris needs to dominate women and endure physical pain (in a BDSM club).

This book ends mid drama, which would have been acceptable if the 2nd book had been better. However, I am almost done the next book in the series (a solid 20 hours of listening) in which Sara is still immature & easily manipulated and Chris is a jerk more often than a prince. While there are some good parts and I really am curious what happened to Rebecca, I don't enjoy characters in their late 20s or 30s that act as if they are still in high school.

Intriguing, sexy & mysterious

I purchased this book because it seemed intriguing and different, and I was spot on! Overall it was like a comedic erotic romance mystery--it had a little bit of everything to offer which made the characters very interesting. The storyline had its moments where it ebbed and flowed somewhat, with abrupt emotional highs and lows from the main characters; but the biggest deal was the unexpected ending. It really made me think, what the heck is REALLY going on????...great way to get you to buy book 2!

As usual, Grace Grant is excellent as the narrator, although I couldn't get the 'Beautifuls' series characters out of my head as I listened. I'd recommend it to a friend, but I don't think it's worth a credit, definitely a sale type of purchase. With that wacky ending and seriously unresolved issues with a number of characters, I'm ready to get to book 2 to see what happens.

This is a winner!

Ms. Jones and Ms. Grant, wow! This one got me from the beginning and kept the interest going. There is a cliffhanger at the end but not to worry the follow up book is here. So, glad Audible kept the same Narrator. You have to listen to this one. It's so worth the money or Credit. I'm on the last of the three books now and I don't want it to end. Great job Audible in bringing us another great book. Thanks.

Mystery and Hot Sex All In One!

Sara and Chris steam up the pages of this book but you also get mystery and suspense. I agree with other readers that it leaves you hanging and so I am glad I waited for the 2nd book to be released before beginning. This has been on my shelf to read for a while and I am not sure why I waited but am so glad that I have read it. I liked the steamy scenes in this book. The BDSM is not overboard and it is believable. I liked the tension between Sara, Chris and Mark. It keeps you guessing how they will all interconnect. Each character is full of pain and mystery and you never know how it is going to play out. At first I was not sure if I would like the Sara reading about someone else's experiences but it was just the right amount. There are several different plot twists that could lead off to other books and characters such as Mark and Steven or Ava. Grace Grant rocks it out of the park with narration. I really like her but again will comment on the fact that she sometimes sounds like she has a lot of saliva when speaking. After the first 5 min I totally get engrossed in her narration and forget all about it. I will highly recommend this book and cannot wait to start on book 2.
