HOT!

I had read the book and then decided to listen as the narration always brings out something different for me. This book is hot! Maxine Mitchell does a wonderful narration and brings the characters into hot, dripping, 3D!! Do yourself a favor and take a listen to this one.

Absolutely intriguing book! Spectacular performance. A bit wordy at times but so worth the read!

Spellbinding!!

This is one of the best BDSM books I've ever listened to. It has so much of the emotional interaction between Dom and Sub. The importance of the attitudes of caring and protection for the Sub. Whether you are actually into this lifestyle or just on the fringes in your imagination in the books. This caring and protective attitude is stressed in all of the books I've read. It also delves into the emotional brokenness that might cause somebody to seek out this lifestyle. I think it stimulates introspection into a person's own life and the questions ask of the characters are also asked of the reader. "Everyone is seeking a connection with another." This quote is the longing of the human heart no matter the lifestyle. The human heart need connection.

Joey W Hill and Maxine Mitchell=A Winning Combination

Wow...just wow. I've been a fan of Joey W. Hill's books and this series is one of my favorites. Mistress Marguerite and Master Tyler are two of the most engaging characters. So much breadth and depth. Joey not only writes greats characters but also superb storylines. Maxine Mitchell is an outstanding narrator. She has strength and grace and she lends a lot of credibility to the series.

I have read all of Joey's books and they are all amazing. Her ability to create deeply emotional characters and pair them with intense BDSM scenes is beautiful and unique every time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ice Queen?

For me it is the whole last chapter, but I don't want to give any spoilers.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Maxine Mitchell?

I like the other person who reads for Joey's Knight's of the boardroom series G. C. VonCloudts.

Was Ice Queen worth the listening time?

Yes

I just can’t.

I have accepted it as a personal challenge to finish this book but I just can’t do it. The basic premise is, if not a lie than it is completely disingenuous. The basic idea is that the Tyler is trying to show M that they were meant to be together. That, regardless of her status as a Domme, he was her Master. The truth is that he selfishly attacks her limits ( intense sensory deprecation under water in a first time D/s experience with a woman that he knows is emotionally damaged…really!?). He has decided he will “have her” and uses emotional/sensual “enhanced interrogation” to get what he wants. He is a sexual terrorist determined to gain her capitulation, frustrated by her healthy denial him, he hamhandedly “treats” her emotional damage by making her his “slave,” his sole aim to prove his dominance via vaginal penetration. I am a lifelong D/s practitioner and otherwise love much of JWH’s work. Can’t do this one.

Joey W. Hill never. Maxine Mitchell sure she did a nice job with the poor material.

No personal growth in the leads failure to explain the inner scars the lead carried.

narrator did a very good job with weak material that depended on shock value.

I also read this one as an e-book, better then the audiobook but I will probably not read the next book.
