"I want more, more from Sarah Mayberry!"

This is what sexy, contemporary romance is supposed to be at its best! This is the 3rd of three connected stories, but you can listen to them independently. Sarah is a really strong writer and while I liked the love story (and the hot scenes) between Claudia and Leandro, the frienship between the three women was just as important. The book before this is ALL OVER YOU

"Solid Story - Solid Narraction Average Book"
What did you like best about Hot for Him? What did you like least?

Best-a change of pace with an original story line
Least-It was solid, but not a gripping page turner.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes, it was an even pace story.

Was Hot for Him worth the listening time?

It was o.k. and I won't listen again soon.

    "Hot and sexy"

This book was by far the best in the series. The two lead characters had great chemistry, and I really enjoyed the storyline. The lead female character has two or three close girlfriends, and the series consists of books written about each of their love stories. However, in my opinion, this one was hands-down the best of the lot.

"Great for the Third in a series"

IF ONLY THEY HAD THE FIRST ONE!!! This is an extremely long (imho) book, but tackled a very real problem in a simplistic but real way--thank you for that. As mentioned above and in another review, this is the third in a series--get "All Over Him" for the second in the series (Grace's story). If only Audible would get Sadie's story now!

    Really loving this author

    "excellent"

This is a terrific romance audio book - compelling story with witty dialog and interesting plot twists, as well as great narration. While romance in general is fairly predictable - always a happy ending - it's the journey that makes a romance novel work, and Claudia's journey is touching and realistic. It isn't just about the journey to romantic love with Leandro, but also her personal journey to accept her mother and find acceptance in her family. The relationship with her 2 best friends is also an important component (All Over You is Grace's story, and Sadie's story is only available in print). And the chemistry between Leandro and Claudia is good - and hot.

My faith in this author is restored after listening to Burning Up (which I found to be a big disappointment, predictable and cliche-ridden). Hot For Him is a 5-star listen!

    "NARRATOR NARRATOR NARRATOR"
    Any additional comments?

So far I've listened to the first 20 minutes of this book and when the narrator does "A Gorgeous Greek Guy's" voice....it sounds like the Lollipop Kids from the Wizard of Oz. Please .....it ruins the entire book!!!!

"Heroine’s attitude and temperament not enjoyable"

This book was not as fun as I hoped. Claudia grew up with an alcoholic mother who embarrassed her. She never brought friends home. Her father refused to admit the problem or get the right kind of help. Apparently that’s the reason Claudia is now a difficult person. She is extremely competitive, works seven days a week, is very good at her job, and never wants to marry or have kids. She is head producer of a TV show. Leandro is head producer of a rival TV show. Their paths cross. They end up having hot, heavy, addictive, passionate sex. She wants a one-night-stand. He can’t forget about her and starts sending her gifts. They end up seeing each other a lot. He is patient, kind, generous, and caring. She fights him at several points along the way, and that’s where my problem is. She comes off mouthy, sarcastic, selfish, bitchy, mean, and you-don’t-own-me-attitude. At one point she wants to break up because she thinks there is a risk he might see scripts from her TV show and use it for his own show. Later she wants to break up because she realizes he cares for her. Later she does break up with him because she insists she never wants kids and he eventually will. He says let’s not worry about the future. Let’s enjoy what we have and see where it takes us. But no she won’t. I did not enjoy this. She was unsympathetic. I’m not saying all main characters must be likeable. Sometimes a “bad girl” can be entertaining. S.E. Phillips did it well in “Ain’t She Sweet.” I’m just saying that a heroine with problems can be done in a more engaging way. Here’s a minor example of conversation that did not appeal to me. She and Leandro are on the way to meet with a criminal. Leandro asks her if she is nervous. She says no. But she is. It wasn’t a big deal, but something about it bothered me. Why lie about something so minor?

Regarding spoilers. I really don’t think I’m doing spoilers above. From the beginning she tells him she does not want marriage and kids. And since most romance novels have a break up, my mentioning the break up should not be a surprise. My intent is to let you know the main story is all about her personal issues.

The sex scenes are good. There are several.

    Genre: contemporary romance

    NARRATOR:
The narrator Elizabeth Livingston seemed ok, but I wonder if she hurt the interpretation of Claudia. Claudia’s character sounded whiny, bitchy, and arrogant. I wonder if a different narrator could have made Claudia more likeable or sympathetic.
