Publisher's summary

Racing against time, NSA agent Joaquin Muñoz is searching for a little girl who vanished 20 years ago with a dangerous secret. Since Bailey Benson fits the profile, Joaquin abducts the beauty and whisks her to the safety of Club Dominion before anyone can silence her for good. At first, Bailey is terrified, but when her kidnapper demands information about her past, she's stunned. Are her horrific visions actually distant memories that imperil all she holds dear?

Confined in a place that echoes with moans and breathes passion, Bailey finds that Joaquin is a fierce protector as well as a sensual Master. But giving in to him might be the most delicious danger of all because Bailey soon learns that Joaquin has a secret of his own. The exposed truth leaves her vulnerable and wondering how much about the man she loves is a lie and how much more is at risk than her heart.

Contains mature themes.

His to Take

This was a great story it really felt like the perfect companion novel to the last book. The way it woven in was great. I wasn’t sure if I liked Joaquin but he grew on me.
Bailey is an interesting heroine, I thought for sure she was going to fight more but it was as if she knew she was going to be going on the adventure of her life.

Joaquin had a lot of learning to do in this book as well and I think he really became the man he always wanted to be.

LOVED the narration I have been wanting a full length novel by Christian Fox and we finally got it!

Great Story weak ending.

It is a great romance story but not a good mystery. The end came out ok but left me not liking the male lead. For an operative I wouldn’t trust him to use an elevator correctly.

Good Take

In this book we get to meet Kata's missing brother Joaquin Muñoz is searching for a little girl who vanished twenty years ago with a dangerous secret. Since Bailey Benson fits the profile, Joaquin abducts the beauty and whisks her to the safety of Club Dominion before anyone can silence her for good. I love reading this series and although this book was set in a BDSM club the few sex scenes lacked some of the heat in the books in this series. Bailey who Joaquin kidnapped terrified but when her he demands information about her past she’s stunned. Are her horrific visions actually distant memories of a past she didn't know that she had. Bailey is being hunted by radical extremist groups who wants information about her fathers research these are the same people who tried to kill Callie and who killed her family. I loved that the book had updates on all the other couples from this series and everyone seems to be having babies or in Logan and Tara's case they just had twins. Joaquin has let the death of his father stunt his emotional growth he as never gotten close to other including his family because of loss and Bailey all she knows is loss. I was glad that this book had a happy ending. This book was very well written (read) as I listened to this book on audio. I also thought that narrator did a really good job. This was a good book and I love this series.

I forgot how much I enjoyed this series. I read it years ago until I caught up, then never continued as the new books came out. These books are always full of action and excitement and a lot of heroes and sex. Joaquin & Bailey were a great match. I really enjoyed the rescue and I wish she would have made him work a little harder for her acceptance in the end. I always enjoy when the characters from other books in the series make a reappearance and especially when they give the hero a push in the right direction.

Christian Fox fits these books perfectly!

stop rushing the ending

I love this series but I really hate that Shayla gets to the end and then just throws it all out there like an after thought. The endings could include so many more details. The proposals could be better. The chase at the end could have a little new spice in the bedroom.

Better and better

The last books in this series are the best with more story and less smex but still enough to let you know that it's a Shayla Black book

All Women Deserve to Be Beaten

Instead of protecting an innocent girl (Bailey 21), a federal agent (Joaquin) took her to a BDSM club where he beat and abused her. The club owner and other male assholes told Joaquin that he had the right to hit, whip, and dominate Bailey to get sexually excited and feel powerful.

The BDSM mentality that women enjoy being beaten was ridiculous and insulting. And who would believe that a sex club was full of well adjusted people who love and admire each other. Just one big happy family where females are treated like brood mares! (It's scary that this violent men have children to abuse too).

I was revolted when Bailey and Callie were portrayed as deserving of brutal punishment, as if females are second class citizens with no rights, brains and feelings. Callie was supposed to be the happy example of a submissive who enjoyed being a sex slave.

The idea that Bailey was excited by being hit and humiliated was totally nuts. Joaquin just wanted to get laid and Bailey was too immature to appreciate that he was a selfish jerk. It was sickening to listen as she got brainwashed into becoming a pathetic doormat.

While Shayla Black is incredibly gifted at creating engrossing characters, I wish she would create woman who are strong, intelligent and dignified. Being battered is not romantic, loving or erotic.
