It was okay.

I have the book so I'm familiar with the story and the story was okay but I was having a hard time with the narrator. Not saying she was bad, she is good but only for female voices. I was really uncomfortable with her male voices especially the main male character. She made him sound like a kid with a raspy voice. So, yeah this is a sexually explicit book and it's like listening to a 25 year old woman having sexual encounters with a 15 year old boy. Uncomfortable, to put it mildly. I had to try to imagine a deeper voice to listen to the rest of the audiobook. None of the male voices she did worked. It's not that she didn't do well I just think her voice is too high-pitched to use for male voices. I hope she's not the narrator for the other books because I don't think I'm going to be able to listen to them.

warning suicide survivor

I think this book should come with a warning that if is about a survivor of abuse, attempted suicide and survivor of a suicide of a loved one. It was a difficult book to listen to even for someone not touched by these sorts of events so anyone who is probably should avoid this one.

Awful Performance

Would you try another book from Megan Hart and/or Elenna Stauffer?

Not Elenna Stauffer-- the voice for the main guy character is annoying.

Would you ever listen to anything by Megan Hart again?

Maybe. It is what it is. It's silly . . . . but I suppose it gets the job done.

How could the performance have been better?

Have a man read the voice of the male character.

Suprising

I bought this book just wanting some mindless "smut". I've read some of Megan Harts books before, and always found the story line good, and the sex better. This book suprised me. Of course there are heated sex scenes(and if blunt descriptions of sex acts offend you, this is not the book for you). The book suprised me because I was invested in the characters...aside from the fact that this is erotica, it is some of the best I have ever read...and my shelves are chalked full of it. The characters were very well written and I found myself looking more forward to the next revelation of their lives more than the next love scene. Very much worth my time.

surprisingly well written

this book was really well written, quite thoughtful, and though catogorized in the erotica section as well as the romance section, it surprised me with its poignancy. i was really hooked.

Addicted!

Any additional comments?

All I have to say is that I am addicted to all of her books so far! I have started from her first book and just went in order by the release date. So far I am at "Deeper"....haven't read it yet, but I know I will love it as much as the others!

Not dirty

This was not a dirty book. In fact, there was no real build up on the scenes . The main character has had about 75 pick ups which makes you question her intelligence. The story of her past is well built up and will leave you sympathetic of her and her family. I am a bit shocked that she does nothing when the neighbors child is cutting himself based on what she experienced in her own childhood. The ending was anti-climatic. Perhaps she could have had a meltdown when she saw Dan with someone else. Maybe compared him to Mathew. Maybe she could have broken down ... had a more serious laceration that forced him to step in and help . .. as it was ... boring ending. Then there was the narrator voice. She was irritating and her male voice for Dan made him sound like a 70 year old bookie.

Fantastic!!!

After reading several reviews on several different authors, I chose Dirty to be my first "erotic" audio book. I wasn't surprised or shocked by the graphic sex but I was thoroughly surprised on how beautifully written the story turned out to be. The characters are flawed, realistic and completely kept my interest from start to finish. After a while, the extremely steamy sex scenes became secondary, taking a back seat to wanting to understand the main characters reasons behind her intimacy issues. I will definitely be purchasing more material from this author. I highly recommend this book!

Dirty Was Correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At first I was a little surprised in the beginng the scenes so inventive, but all was making sense by the end. No regrets!

Can't get past the narrator...

Wow! This story had so much potential. Having read Megan Hart before, I know my problem isn't her prose, its the damn narrator! I keep expecting her to break into some news anchor talking-head monologue! Is it me, or does 'erotica' denote some level of sultry, softened edges with the narration? I heard every word, articulated to a pitch-perfect point... I guess that's good, but you shouldn't hire a narrator just because she can describe a sex scene with perfect articulation...yikes!
