More about BDSM & Erotica With Very Little Romance

Would you try another book from Kristina Lloyd and/or Gracie Lockhart?

Probably not as there was no real ongoing plot-the beginning had promise, the end was pretty good; but the middle went on and on. It was basically a book about sexual dominance over a woman who seemed to have no self control.

The narrator was good.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The attempted rescue.

Which character – as performed by Gracie Lockhart – was your favorite?

Probably Gabriel.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

I don't know, perhaps a little self control and fight from Clarissa.

This reminded me of The Marketplace - This is as many have commented; raunchy, graphic, erotica. If you like Maya Banks, Sylvia Day, Lora Leigh, etc. this may be too much for you OR you may like it. For me it was a bit too much.

NOTE: Strong language and VERY graphic [at times taboo] sex

Sadistic

This book was pretty dark. Although there were many raunchy scenes, they leave you quite cold due to the sadism (unless you like that sort of thing). Save your credit for something more worth while.

WTF!

This has to be the worst book ever; the plot was awful and the sex scenes were revolting. The only good thing about this book was the narrator.

Has a romantic ending.

Mostly hardcore sex but ends ok. I liked it. If you want something more hardcore then this. read Anne Rice- Sleeping Beauty . If your into the humiliation stuff you'll love it.

Thouroughly unpleasant

In this book, a weak-willed father sells his daughter in marriage to a sexual sadist. While she is horrified, mortified and humiliated by the truly horrible things he does to her (like, say, rape her in front of her boyfriend) she is also hopelessly aroused by them. I have no problem believing in telepathic vampires finding their soulmates and rich handsome Earls falling for spunky heroines, but victimization as turn on is beyond my powers to believe. And if you can't believe in the upside of sexual sadism then there's really nothing at all in this book that isn't just revolting. I summed up the plot in the first sentence and the characters are extremely hard to warm up to to say the least.
Unless you're excited at the prospect of eight hours of humiliation, I stronly suggest you keep browsing.

Oh come on

if you like flowers and butterflies in your erotica then this is not the book for you, however if you have preference for "darker" side of erotica (hence the name) then this is a great book. I look forward to more from this author.

Good raunchy erotica

As erotica novels go, I can't find a lot of fault with Lloyd's Darker than Love. It's definitely NOT a romance, so for those of you who like your sex tied up with a sweet bow, this is not the best of choices. However, for those of us who like to delve into the edgier side of eroticism in our fiction, this book comes up to scratch very nicely. The character development could be better. But when I find erotica that actually has any, I will assume I've died and gone to heaven. I also have to mention the narrator - Ms. Lockhart has the perfect voice for this type of material. She doesn't overplay it, or groan. She's excellent.

I can absolutely enjoy a bit of twisted kink, so judging from a lot of these prudish reviews I thought this could be fun. Unfortunately not. Absurd characters who are all exactly the same. Thoughtless, unoriginal, shallow, uninteresting "kink" element. Endlessly repetitive and just unimaginably boring on the whole. I couldn't even make it to the middle of the book.
